An article on ESPN citing a certain study said that the performance of a DB seems to be inversely related to their wonderlic score.
Quote:
A 2009 study by professors from Fresno State University, the University of Georgia and Towson State found no connection between Wonderlic scores and performance during the first three years of a player's NFL career. The group studied 762 players from the 2002, 2003 and 2004 draft classes.
John W. Michel, an assistant professor at Towson University who co-authored the study, told The Washington Post: "We found in no cases was cognitive ability related to [football] performance. We did find a negative relationship for tight ends and defensive backs. For defensive backs, it was the most pronounced; basically, the lower you scored on the Wonderlic, the better you performed."
I, for one, hope the Browns won't pass on Jeffery if he is still there when their second first round pick comes around
(low 20's).
Replace second first pick with second round pick and I agree. It will also depend on if they pick Blackmon or not. I think there will be better players around at 22nd (?) and the Browns should be looking BPA.

I am not see keen on the Big 12 WR's. The throw the ball in awful lot down there. Even Blackmon, I prefer if they can grab Jeffrey or Hill with either the pick 1(20ish) or 2 (30ish). Take Robinson or Claiborne at #3.
The No. 1 pick in the NFL draft belongs to the Indianapolis Colts, no question, and they’re using it to select a quarterback. The No. 2 went to the St. Louis Rams, who moved it to Washington for a handful of later picks. Now there’s news about the No. 3 — according to Eric Edholm of Pro Football Weekly, the Minnesota Vikings are considering trading the pick on the April 26 draft date.
“If we want to get out of that pick, we’ll [determine] what it will take to get out of that pick,” Vikings GM Rick Spielman said. “Plus you have to be careful of how far you would want to go [down in the draft]. You have to know what you’re looking at, depending on how far you go back. Are you getting yourself out of the [range of] the supposedly blue-chip type of players?”

I think they're just hoping that the Dolphins and Browns badly want Tannehill. Obviously they won't get close to what the Rams got but they could still get a pretty decent return. Using the Dolphins and their interest in Tannehill to get the Browns to swap spots would be ideal for the Vikings. Then they could still get Kalil and also pick up an extra pick. It seems unlikely though.
He was also 5th on the QB list until Barkley and Jones went back to school. Reaching for a guy and paying to reach for a guy are two whole different commitments.
Jim Irsay @JimIrsay
Tannehill is a hidden gem in this draft,a quiet secret who was always sneaking up to #3..you want him,you better talk to Zigi The Biggie!

Is he friends with the Vikes owner?
Irsay trying to increase the value of the Vikings pick. Nice.
Schefter says the Vikings aren't a lock to take Kalil...

"In talking to people around the league, I don't think Kalil is a lock to Minnesota at No. 3 by any stretch," said Schefter. Schefter has heard of some teams "sniffing around" Minnesota's first-rounder, and expects interest to pick up in "a week to ten days," when all clubs have their 2012 draft boards set. Vikings GM Rick Spielman is known to be open to trading down
