It's really sad. I think the review score is really influenced by the fact the Lumia 900 was in reviewers hands at the same time as the One X.
Not really great timing. Had the Lumia 900 been released during the MWC "Hangover" it probably would have gotten a better score.
What I think did the Lumia in as far as the review on the Verge has to be be the staleness of WP7. TBH I don't see how they can fix that with the Metro UI. It's not going to be possible to really Polish off something so minimalism.
That being said, not all the reviews were bad. Topolsky just destroyed it though. Which is surprisingly inconsistent since the Lumia 800 got a decent grade.

JT didn't review the 800 though, that was Vlad.
Then again, the Lumina 800 was reviewed 5 months ago, so it is a bit natural to expect some progression, and it doesn't sound like WP7 is doing that.
However, I did find the 900 review from somewhat biased, when he's comparing the current version of iOS to WP7, which is not as mature and the ecosystem is no where close - I can come with lots of things that I think should to be fixed in iOS, or how I think the home button is so 2007...but overall, I didn't disagree with the Verge's tally of the 900.
Some of the reviews are good and some of them are bad. End users are the ones that are the real reviewers not some biased reporters who can't see nothing new out of their safe box.
I personally have owned Android (my first smartphone) for about year and I'm getting tired and bored about it...apps disappear and the OS seems to be living it's own life sometimes...Windows Phone OS looks different and more lively plus the market place is growing all the time... my next smartphone most likely will be Windows Phone and Lumia.
Plus checking around/searching the apps with your thumb going up and down feels more comfortable than with iPhone and Android going left/right.
Edit. Lumia 900 advertising campaign begins on sunday (8th of April)
Just went to Rogers to get the Lumia. What a beauty. Definitely in the top tier as far as build quality goes with Apple and HTC. As for the OS, until now it's nice. Only disappointment is IE. Even Mobile HF is not well rendered...
Funny hearing Nicki Minaj talk about the Lumia 900 like it's an awesome phone especially for Tweeting, but then you look at her Twitter feed it's all loaded with tweets from Blackberries and iPhones.
some of the phones had some software problem with the internet connection but update will be available 16th April and they even give 100$ refund to AT&T customers so the phone is basically free. So if you plan getting it...get it before 16th.
Nokia gives you money back...what would have Apple done? "you are holding it wrong"?
Sadly, I've been having problems with SMS reception. I don't know yet if it's related with the data bug(which I don't have) or if it's a faulty device... Really like the phone though.
I was seriously eyeing Lumia 800 and Lumia 900 not too long ago. Until HTC unveiled the One X. I feel like HTC is as good if not better than Nokia in terms of build quality and just as good as Apple.
The unibody polycarbonate is what really interested me from the Lumia 800/900. When I heard the One X was basically going to be a Lumia 900 but running Android I was sold.
If I wasn't going to get the One X I'd definitely be looking at grabbing an 800 or 900.
I spilt gatorade all over my HTC Desire Z last summer and it caused the back screen to go blotchy and blue... but the phone is still going strong today.

The software update is now launched ahead of schedule and you can still get 100$ back if you buy from AT&T before 21st April...not bad.
The sales are doing ok I guess. Some AT&T stores have sold out their phones and their website says Lumia 900 black is temporary sold out plus the two different colors are amazon AT&T top sellers.
Was thinking of this one if I am not impressed with the BB10 devices later this year. Little disappointed that there is already a serious enough issue that they are offering people a $100 credit.

Yeah but it wasn't hardware related which is good. At least, Nokia answered well and they even pushed the update 3 days early.
Also, have to say, I'm impressed by Nokia Cuatomer Service. Tweeted them about my SMS issues and immediately got help. Props.

It was a software bug about connecting to AT&T LTE in some devices but they already updated/fixed it. Still they give you a nice refund. That's a customer service.
Amazon AT&T reviews are 5 stars atm so it seems "the problem" was minor.
It's called DartEm and you get to throw darts at pictures stored on your phone. I'm planning to update it to make it have no more score cap, keep track of top scorers and add names to it.

Well must have been more then AT&T since Rogers is giving out the same credit in Canada.

I'm open to suggestions to make it even better.
Very cool little game Sined. Keep up the good work.
