Sabres Survivor Playoffs-Cup Finals-Game 5 @ BOS (04/07/12)

The 24 playoff contestants are broken into NHL playoff style seedings based on the point standings. Anyone who won a Survivor game during the season automatically qualifies for the playoffs. Playoff format is: contestant 1(most points)v contestant 24(fewest points out of top 24), contestant 2 v contestant 23, etc, etc. The playoffs are broken into 4 stages of 5 game matchups.

Each contestant can only select a player one time in each round of the Survivor Playoffs(eg Vanek just one time, Pominville just one time). Incorrect selections do NOT result in elimination. Failure to make a selection before each game does NOT result in elimination. The contestant with the most correct selections in their head-to-head 5 game series advances to the next round.

Any tied series' after the 5 games will be broken using total goals of the 5 players selected, then total points followed by most total shots. The first round gets us from 24 to 12, then we'll go from 12 to 6 and once again from 6 to 3. The final 3 Survivors will battle it out in a 3 way series to determine the Ultimate Survivor.

Second Round Schedule:
Game One vs PIT (03/30/12)-LoveDaSwords first pick
Game Two @ TOR (03/31/12)-Taro Tsujimoto first pick
Game Three vs TOR (04/03/12)-jcorfive first pick
Game Four @ PHI (04/05/12)-LoveDaSwords first pick
Game Five @ BOS (04/07/12)-Taro Tsukimoto first pick

-If two non Survivor winners meet---Home Ice/First pick advantage for 3 games goes to most points
-If two Survivor winners meet---Home Ice/First pick advantage for 3 games goes to most points
-If one Survivor winner and one non winner meet.----Home Ice/First pick advantage for 3 games goes to Survivor winner regardless of points.

Home Ice/First pick advantage is only good up until 7 hours prior to puck drop of that game. Deadline times are in EST. 12pm deadline for 7pm games, 12:30pm deadline for 7:30pm games, 3pm deadline for 10pm games, 3:30pm deadline for 10:30pm games. 1pm deadline for 8pm games, 8am deadline for 3pm games. If the contestant with the first pick advantage fails to make their selection prior to the 7 hour deadline, he/she loses that advantage for that game and their opponent is able to make their selection at any time.

Only three Survivor Game Day threads will be made during each round of the playoffs. One thread for Games 1 and 2, where the higher seed has first pick.(barring the Survivor winner v non winner rule)
One thread for Games 3 and 4, where the lower seed has first pick.(barring the Survivor winner v non winner rule)
And one final thread for all Game 5, where the higher seed once again has first pick.(barring the Survivor winner v non winner rule)

Game #4 Results -
LoveDaSwords - NO WIN - Roy - 0 G, 0 A, 2 SOG.
Taro Tsujimoto - NO WIN - Foligno - 0 G, 0 A, 3 SOG.
Jcorfive - NO WIN - Pominville - 0 G, 0 A, 2 SOG.

Standings/Results After Game #4 -

LoveDaSwords - 2 WINS - Game #1-Vanek, Game #2-Ennis, Game #3-Stafford, Game #4-Roy.
2 Goals (Vanek 1, Ennis 1) 1 Assist (Ennis 1) 11 Shots On Goal (Vanek 3, Ennis 5, Stafford 1, Roy 2).

Taro Tsujimoto - 2 WINS - Game #1-Ennis, Game #2-Vanek, Game #3-Pominville, Game #4-Foligno.
1 Goal (Ennis 1) - 2 Assists (Pominville 2) - 11 Shots On Goal (Ennis 2, Vanek 0, Pominville 6, Foligno 3).

Jcorfive - 1 WIN - Game #1-Stafford, Game #2-Roy, Game #3-Foligno, Game #4-Pominville.
0 Goals - 2 Assists (Foligno 2) - 11 Shots On Goal (Stafford 4, Roy 1, Foligno 4, Pominville 2).

Good Luck To All - Game #5!

LS: Watch LoveDaSwords and Taros Sabres both get a point in Game #5 on Saturday.
LoveDaSwords guy gets an assist while Taros guy (Stafford) gets a goal. They both
then get the same number of shots on goal. So we are tied in Wins, tied in Goals,
tied in Assists and tied in Shots On Goal. Who wins? We being back the Pims? Time
on Ice? which were tie-breakers in the regular season. Give it to LoveDaSwords since
he was the #1 seed in the finals or just declare them co-winners?

Now after I said all of that - watch both LoveDaSwords Sabre and Taros Sabre (Stafford)
don't get any points thus they are stuck on 2 Wins and Jcorfives Sabre scores 2 goals -
he then ties LoveDaSwords at 2 goals each and then goes on to win because he had
more total points - 4-3. Gets a hat trick and he wins because of more goals. WOW!

Total TOI for all 5 guys should determine a winner. If its still tied after that then it deserves to end in a tie

My pick has already been used by both my opponents, so in the interest of not forgetting to make a pick, I will take Pominville. Even though I don't have first pick, since neither player can take him anyways it should be valid.

EDIT: Then again, Taro has already picked so I'm free to pick whomever anyways. Still, Pommer it is.

Congrats to LoveDaSwords on winning Sabres Survivor Playoff 2012!

Prize? LoveDaSwords automatically advances to the second game in each round
that we have next season? Thus he doesn't have to make a pick in the first game.
Taro and Jcorfive should get something for making the final and their prize could be
three (thus a hat trick) free advancements to a second game. Maybe give the semifinal
people - one free advancement? Ok, I'm only saying that so I can win something! LOL!
