If Blues beat San Jose:
They Can't play Vancouver if Vancouver beats L.A. But, if L.A. beats Vancouver, Blues would be #1 seed and play #8 (Kings).
If Vancouver beats L.A., and Chicago beats Phoenix, and Nashville beats Detroit, The Blues would play Chicago (the remaining lowest seed). If those things happen, except that Detroit beats Nashville, they'd still play Chicago. But, if Phoenix beats Chicago, then The Blues would play the winner of Det./Nash.
I do too, I have a hatred towards the canucks so this match up rests well with me. Oh and a tip, couture loves flying head first into the boards so you guys better watch out.

I wouldn't say it's crazy. Vancouver didn't play a very disciplined game tonight and they miss Daniel Sedin. In a seven-game series though, without home ice advantage and with Sedin possibly back (we couldn't run into Vancouver til the conference finals), I'd rather play the Kings.

I think I'm just more scared of Quick, and the fact that we've only scored 1 goal against him in 184 minutes and 95 shots.
I say yes. Vancouver is far more offensively potent. The Blues may have only one goal against LA in the last two games, but the Kings have none. Having home ice is a big deal for a Blues team whose coach has built a deep group relying on solid matchups to get an edge. Quick is not some deity. He's a really good goaltender. I've seen him let in plenty of goals. Look what San Jose did head up those final two games. Quick blew how many leads? Quick is beatable, Rinne is beatable, Mike Smith is beatable.
Blues and LA play a similar game, and the Blues do it better. Would be thrilled if LA beats Vancouver.

Makes sense. Sounded crazy in my head, but LA just seems like a sleeping giant that everyone likes to poke. Eventually they are going to wake up and explode. Then again, that probably won't happen.
Also, as expected, playoff Detroit and playoff Nashville are each so much better than playoff LA or playoff Phoenix (the only four possible opponents in round 2) that in case the Blues do advance, it would be nice to see at least one of Phoenix or LA hold their series leads.
If there's one thing we should be taking from these playoffs so far, it's that holding leads (even late leads) and closing out teams isn't as easy as it sounds.
