Will MSG have any rights to the games or will they be exclusively on the NBC family?

From prior years, they were able to. Since all the games will be on an NBC channel or NHLNet, my guess is MSG will have all the games.

Every game in the first round will be on MSG. Everything in the 2nd round and beyond will be on the NBC networks.

I figured they'd probably have the first round as well too.

Ok thanks.

That's not necessarily true. NBC can have exclusivity in the first round. MSG will for sure have games 1, 3, and 4.

The Senators are a team I don't have hatred towards so I feel like even if they do come out on top it wouldn't bother me as much as if it was the Capitals or say the Atlantic division trifecta of hatred.

With that said the task for this team will be to reduce the offensive impact of Spezza, Michaelk, and Alfredsson. (spelling sucks on those) but even more important is probably disrupting Karlsson on the PP. The PK is going to have to cover the point aggressively to take his time and space away. Hopefully that will disrupt them enough. If the Rangers give the Senators life on the PP and the Rangers PP can't match the output the Rangers are not going to win this series.

Also physically the Rangers must wear the Senators down and make them afraid to make creative offensive plays. Force them to turn the puck over and slow them down through the neutral zone.

For the Rangers offensively they must be consistent at generating chances and scoring first. The team plays much better with the lead. Coming from behind in this series will be difficult so that's very key imo. Lundqvist must be well Lundqvist and give the team the chance to get that first goal every game.

I think this is the worst possible matchup out of all the teams in the East sans Pittsburgh for the Rangers, but it can and should be a series they win. Let's hope it works out that way.

Let's go Rangers!

Maurice has the Rangers in 5 games. Johnson has Rangers in a comfortable 6 games. Hradek has the Rangers in 6.

As far as I know, every game is broadcast locally unless it's picked up by the main network such as NBC which game 2 and 5 aren't (both night games). Games 6 and 7 are both during the week which NBC won't have either.

Canucks fan here with a question to ask you Rangers fans...

I'm wondering how confident you fans are on Lundqvist heading into the playoffs. As a Canucks fan I know how it can feel for your goalie to be labeled an underachiever when information is being misinformed.

I'm wondering this myself because I'm still picking on players to choose for my pool.

Thanks guys, and good luck along the way(unless we meet.)

You're right, confirmed by John Giannone at MSG, they will televise ALL games in the first round:

This nonsense about Lundqvist having any kind of playoff troubles drives me insane. Henrik is almost always just as dominant in the playoffs as in the regular season. With the exception of his rookie year (when he was hurt) and the odd game here or there, his playoff performances have all been strong. The reason he hasn't gone very far falls largely on the teams in front of him, who generally gave him little goal support while allowing the other team numerous high quality scoring opportunities.

Henrik has no playoff troubles.

Unfortunately CBC is covering the games for the playoffs. If it had been Sportsnet Potvin would be the announcer. A bit of hate now?

Not thrilled with this matchup, and not because of the way we played them in the regular season. Simply because Karlsson is going to be a great deal of trouble if we don't hit him hard starting with the first shift on Thursday and continuing until we prevail. Alfy has always been trouble, Spezza's good and Anderson can get real hot. That said, you can pretty much say that about any team with their stars. Ottawa is young. We can prevail as much as we should but with our hot and cold PP and offense I'm not sure we can win if we're not running on all cylinders.

jaygeemsg Repeating: MSG Network will air ALL 7 games (if necessary) of Rangers vs Senators. NBC will not have exclusivity on either Saturday game.

jaygeemsg #NYR v OTT begins Thurs at Garden. ALL GAMES of 1st round series WILL be seen on MSG Network, with one-hour pre-AND postgame shows! #Sam&Joe

For all those people wondering about exclusivity of the series. MSG gets all 7 games.

Awesome. Sounds a lot like Lu to me. With the team the Rangers have built this season along with Torts. I'm confident enough to see you guys going atleast to the CF.

Karlsson has on 28 pp points as opposed to his 50 at even strength. Ottawa has the mindset that everyone wrote them off for making the playoffs and had them finishing last in the east. With a bunch of guys winning the Calder cup last year and carried that play into this season along with the experience of our vets I think we have a very good chance at pulling off an upset.

Analysts up here have been saying that the Rangers have been playing playoff style hockey all season long, is this true?

The biggest problem I think the Sens will have is with Lundqvist. Ottawa never seems to win those games when the other goalie stands on their head.
