After giving it a few hours of break.. Heres my first ever full-squad analysis. Hope you guys can give me feedback, point out some stuff you think are inaccurate
Sorry in advance. TL;DR, I understand. Its 2AM and I'm in my bed and can't sleep. Might as well wright something long to pass the time
Ricketts: 8,5/10I've always been on his side, eventhough some people suggested Sutton would be worthy of a start, I was really hoping that Marsch would keep on with Donnovan. Hes been stellar, and today has done what he was unable to do in the previous games. He would make important saves versus Columbus & Real Salt Lake, but not at the opertunistic times.. Today, Ricketts made the improtant saves at the important times to keep the Impact's lead & confidence up. Its never been a doubt in my mind, hes the number one and can make a difference.
Zarek: 7,5/10 Had some solid runs of the right hand side. Clearly demonstrates that he is adapting to his team. I really think he has yet to feel comfortable. It might be a confidence thing, but at times you see that hes just playing soccer, hes reacting to situations and is playing phenomenally well. But at other times, when he tends to think plays out too much, he makes minor mistakes, jumps for the wrong balls, makes the extra pass when he should just rip it.
Shavar Thomas: 7/10 Clearly way more effcient than Tyson Wahl as a center back. Needles to say he has saved the Impact Two goals in his two starts, he also has made some mistakes overcommiting to certain players. I suppose we can blame this to Chemistry, since Thomas hasn't always been practicing alongside Ferrari, so not knowing his tendancies. Still solid down the middle and way more reliable defensively and in the air. Until Nelson Rivas arrives, a great replacement.
Matteo Ferrari: 9/10 Maybe I'm biased, but man oh man does it ever show hes a notch above everyone? Hes so calm with the ball and makes the right plays on the floor & on the air. Hes composed and a perfect general to have down the middle of the field. Hes a shot blocking machine (If I'm not mistaken, he leads the MLS). He commited a crucial mistake on Koeverman's goal, having Him (Ferrari) and Shavar Thomas on the same man, leaving Zarek two people to cover inside the box. As said above, It can be just a chemistry thing.
Tyson Wahl: 6,5/ 10 Short and breif, better defensively and right now, having no Rivas down the middle, hes better off to have in the lineup because hes a better defensive liability. But I think that as a left back, he has to be creating more offensively, and Its why I think that once Rivas & Ferrari are comfortable down the middle, Gardiner might possibly take over this spot, since he seems to have a better offensive flair
Lamaar Neagle: 8/10 Was realy surprised about this one by Marsch. Neagle proved me wrong, he was solid all night, is very confident with the ball, and sometimes a bit too much. I think at times he tries to hold on to it too long in the hope to make something out of nothing rather than just ditching out the ball and making the simple pass. He played a good solid two way game. Not to mention that great read to pressure the ball carier and pass it over to Sinisa
Collen Warner- 7/10 Less visible than last game versus Real Salt Lake. Nothing great offensively as well as defensively. No doubt he has a great work rate and is a work horse, but having some sort of goalscoring problems, we need our midfeilders to create chances, which he was able to do against RSL but not today against Toronto. Was his chance to force Marsch into keeping him inside the Starting XI, But I don't think he had a good enough game to keep Bernier on the bench for next weekend
Felipe: 8,5/10 I really can't find the words to describe him. He just makes something happen when he has the ball and seems like he never makes a bad decision, or atleast a decision that leads to a counter attack favoring the opponents in numbers. I really think he could become the "Newcomer of the year" in the MLS.
Ubiparipovic: 7/10: Asides his goal, nothing great, but he was injured so I'll give him the benifice of the doubt. I think hes better off as a sub. His offensive creativity and passing flair isn't really anyhting we should worry about, its his specialty. But I think hes better off as a substitute when you need a spark, not a starter.
Nyassi: 8,5/10 Great game once again, His speed really creates some problems for the opponent's back four. Especially late in games where they seem to be tired, he seems to get into that extra gear. He just lacks a bit of finishing. Thats the main flaw, but I think he brings something new and fresh to the lineup.
As for Bernardo Corradi, I didn't see him much So I'll let this one open...
As for the team overall.. I think the main peice missing is Rivas and his return will make all the dominos start falling one after the other. The defense will be way solider, giving Ricketts more confidence and he will be able to make those big time saves. Midfeilders will trust the back four and will create more offensively and take more chances. Those new looks and balls from the midfeilders will give the forwards more scoring chances, and hopefully goals.
I disagree about your overall assessment of Felipe. He had some "meh" games too but people preferred blaming the local boy because he spoke French. Bernier was benched after his best game in NY while Felipe was mostly invisible in NY and SLC.
Ricketts looks quite insecure. He doesn't run at all!
The crowd yesterday was OK. I was expecting more people but considering that the game was at noon, it's pretty understandable that 23 000 people showed up. I think that with all the tickets distributed, the attendance would have been between 25 and 30k. Saputo reported the actual attendance, not the number of tickets distributed.
Our game was good overall. We were just missing some coordination. The playing surface was terrible. At least 10 players fell yesterday because of how wet the grass was. Ferrari is amazing. He acts like a real captain. I think he gives the rest of the team confidence.
Wenger also played a good game. I'm happy we didn't see Braun and I hope we don't see him for a long time.
Our defense is quite solid. Rivas(comes back in june)-Ferrari-Thomas-Valentin. Yeah, this looks quite good!

Is this an analysis since the start of the season or just for the game against Toronto? If it's against Toronto only then yeah I kind of agree with you except for Felipe maybe, he was good but not 8.5 good.
Overall, as most of you already mentioned, I can't wait for Rivas to return, but it seems like he might not return before July which is a shame. Concerning Ferrari, yeah he's been really good and I understand your mancrush on him but looking at each game closely, in each one of them he committed a mistake that led to a goal. Maybe as some of you said could be related to coordination, so hopefully they can improve.
From the games that I've seen so far here's the ideal lineup for me (excluding Rivas)
------------Ricketts-------------
Valentin - Thomas - Ferrari - Wahl
Nyassi - Felipe - Warner - Mapp
------------Wenger--------------
------------Corradi---------------
Warner is not a lot better than Bernier, so I'd rotate, same with Wahl and Gardner. Corradi hasn't proven enough to be a starter but he's the best option to us as a striker at the moment. By July the DP should replace Corradi and Rivas replaces Thomas.
I think our biggest weakness is in central midfield. I'm not convinced with either Felipe, Warner or Bernier. The team can barely create chances, the transition game is slow and bad, passes are inaccurate and the strikers are forced to return back to the midfield to touch the ball. For next year I say we should make improving our midfield a priority if we want to be one of the best teams in the league, we need a real playmaker.
I'm glad for Ubi. Quality guy and quality player as shown today. Maybe not a first 11, but definitely someone who can come off the bench and do some great things.

Completly agree. Thanks for your comments guys.
Its a mixture of both. I sort of did it fresh from the game versus TFC, But also tried using some of their previous games experiences to sort of balance it out. But the high mark grades are mainly from the game versus TFC.
I seem to be biased Towards Felipe. Atleast I know it now LOL XD. I thought everyone else had the same POV as me. Thx for the reality check
Lmao yeah. I am not sure if this is real though. He said if nobody got it he would give it to the funniest or closest though. I can't believe nobody got it so i wont believe it until he actually DMs me on twitter or gives instructions. The tweet actually woke me up this morning lol.
Im in the "too good to be true" phase right now lol. I can't believe it.. Which is why I don't want to get ahead of myself
EDIT: Woah this is true. He just DM'ed me for my adress.

Gunners14 if you got a stream link me through PM will ya m8? Thx!
On a side note, Chelsea confirmed to be opponents @ MLS All Star Game.
ya no problem. I don't normally have any issues finding a stream. Normally the problems are whether or not the streams lag. I'll PM both of you now, the two sites I use for arsenal game.
I would love for Arsenal to come to NA to play in the MLS all star game or vs other teams. Looks like we'll have to wait a couple years. Forgot where I read it but it looks like they're going to sign a deal to go to Asia for the next couple years.
EDIT: just sent them

Thanks for the PM! Yeah they're in Asia this summer.. My moms French Canadian but my Dads from the Philippines (In Asia) and he told me they're on a big asian tour.. Their first stop being Malasia I believe...
Hey, who knows, Maybe they're saving Arsenal for when the ASG will be in Montreal

Very good read. In the future, the rivalry will be Crepeau (Impact GK prospect) vs Roberts (TFC GK prospect) who will make his debut with them as a backup.
