Guys, we just won 6-1. Stick to discussing the game or take it to PM's.

i wouldn't read too deep into the play of the lines. guys who were fighting for their professional careers (short term) against a team that was thinking about their golf handicap.

I think you it just speaks to solid depth and that's about it. Nonetheless, its nice knowing you have guys like Smith and Wilson to fill in should we get roughed up.

Man I hope we beat the Red Wings.

@WillyD1025
From the #Preds locker room: Lindback "day to day with upper body injury"

I predict if one of our lines doesn't produce in the playoffs, the Colin Wilson/Halischuk/Smith line will be put in to fill their spot.

can you imagine if Landeskog had taken out Rinne's knee or ankle with 25 seconds left in a meaningless game?

haha major brainfart there.

No, I don't want to imagine that. There wouldn't be enough professional support in the city of Nashville if that happened.

I think Trotz hates any line that doesn't produce or screws up somehow and will scratch them if they continue to not produce/make mistakes.....except maybe if it's Rads and Yip since he's in love w/ them....lol. But I agree Colin Wilson, Smith, and Halischuk have been extra hated on by Trotz, especially Colin Wilson. Maybe w/ their great play tonight they will be back on his good list and will see more ice time in the playoffs.

I'm wondering/hoping that taking out Lindback was essentially a safe move, giving him some rest and medical attention and let Peks just play a little. I mean let's be honest here. If no feelings were involved, the top case scenario would be to win the game, start Lindback to rest Rinne but maybe let him play a period to try and keep him sharp. If Lindy is healthy we just got away with being able to do that.

W/ the Preds having so much depth in their lines, can Trotz rotate more lines if one is not producing or does he have to stick w/ the 4 lines he has in the lineup for that game? I know he can change up the players in a line but can he bring in a whole new line to fill in for a line that's not producing?

@JoshuaCooper
Trotz said Lindback's injury was "not very serious". We saw Lindback walking around, no brace, cast etc

No. You have to play with the players in the lineup you can't replace them even if they get injured. Once a player is scratched for a game he can't play. The only backup is the goalie.

Always love beating the Avs, in such grand fashion and clinching 4th is icing on the cake.

Yeah, we remember...you had way too much fun.

I kind of like games like last night. It was like a pre-season game in that it didn't really affect anything, but it actually counted in the points. Every so often I need one of those for overall game enjoyment purposes. Wouldn't want that to be the norm, but once or twice a year it's refreshing.

haha I was thinking that too. When we scored I was happy but didn't really care much. When they scored their goal I was like ehh oh well. I did want to rub it in though standings-wise.

Right. I definitely wanted to win--wanted a solid 4th seeding in points, not just because of the tiebreaker. But I also liked knowing we'd already gotten 4th. I guess it's kind of like watching a repeat of a game where you already know the outcome and it's favorable from your point of view.

And assuming Lindback isn't really injured I think it was a best-case scenario to get Rinne a little bit of game action just to stay sharp. Obviously the circumstances for him playing weren't good, and Lindy played really well.....but theoretically I stick to my point.
