If your team was drafting high and both these players were on the board who do you take?
I'm torn between the two from reading reports and watching I feel Grigorenko has the slight advantage in potential but the reports of him being lazy or a perimiter players kind of scare me off. But at the same time scared to pass on him incase he becomes Malkin-Lite. However if the Habs choose him it would be fine if he became a Kovalev
Galchenyuk on the other hand, I like his game and he may be slightly less skilled then Grigo, although not by much, but seems to have a higher compete level. Issue with him is the injuries causing him to miss a year of development and hopefully isn't an injury prone player.
Grigorenko will be gone when EDM or MTL picks so Leafs fans shouldn't be scared to pick him.
That said, I think they are equal. Grigorenko has better vision and a slightly better passer. Galchenyuk is the better skater and has the better shot. Can't complain with either one since they are both 6'2+.
Maybe less goal scoring ability but I'd say their offensive upside is pretty similar. I think a lot of people forget how good Galchenyuk was last year. He put up 30 goals and 83 points in his rookie year, in a year where he was mostly 16.
Galchenyuk, seems to be a better all around player.

Exhibit A as to how hockey doesn't matter on ESPN:
Last night an ESPN program was discussing how the Detroit Pistons needed a hero citing the heroes on the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and no mention of the Detroit Red Wings. All this despite the Red Wings probably being the most succesful team in Detroit right now.
Tough one, Grigerenko is a slightly more skilled of the two but if u want a winning attitude and a complete team player on your club then u take Galchenyuk without a hesitation. I don't see the injuries as a issue with Galchenyuk, he looked great out their the last 2 games.
For the Leafs, getting either would be a solid pick-up but Galchenyuk would be a better choice since he seems to have the "it" factor in nearly every facet of the game.
Personally I prefer Galchenyuk's drive and intensity to Grigorenko's hands. Gally's got some great hands as well. I get the feeling we'll be surprised to see which one is having the better career in 5 years.
I was at the Moosehead game tonight and to be honest Grigorenko was underwhelming. MacKinnon will be a stud however. Obviously you can't base your opinion on one game. I do like his size and he seemed to be very skilled. I can't vote due to my extremely limited viewings of each player. I will say that it sounds like who ever gets both players will be getting some skilled Centers. But someone will luck out next year with MacKinnon.
