Backup goaltender, dont really see the why. Maybe they want to play Danis a lot in the AHL.

EDIT: I see this is James Sanord, i.e., the guy in Hamilton. My bad.

dude, you're thinking of another Sanford (Curtis I believe).

This is James Sanford, the RH Francis Bouillon.

Strange moves for sure. First the Habs sign him, he has a very good start in the ECHL, where he was his teams leading scorer for defensemen, then named to the ECHL All Stars where he never played cause he got called up to Hamilton. He plays well offensively in Hamilton but shows he's a liability in his own end.

Then the Habs don't resign him (I thought he had a team option, not sure, either way he wasn't picked up) I must say I've heard whispers or rumors of problems that management wasn't happy with him saying he was overweight and not in good shape (I have no clue how true or false)

Then Savard signs him to an AHL contract where he ends up in the ECHL again but for only a short time. He then gets jerked in and out of the lineup despite being one of only a small handful of plus players and he's been one of the teams top scoring defensemen with 20 pts in 37 games.

I'm glad he's signed cause they will need defensemen in Hamilton next year. Cote, Archer, Benoit and now Sanford will be there. Need to add more guys like Emelin and others.
