Game 2: OTT 5 - 1 NYR

Game 3: NYR 4 - 2 OTT

Game 4: NYR 6 - 3 OTT

Those are some incredibly high scoring games.

6 goals in one game on two separate occasions? Is that a typo?

We'd better save some goals for the second round too.

How long is the drive to Ottawa from NYC? Has anyone done it and what's traffic like?

The weekend game sounds plausible to do that for. Anything else would be a big waste of time.

There is no weekend game in Ottawa though. They play there on a Monday, Wednesday, and Monday again.

Good one.

trueblue9441 and i were thinking about driving to ottawa for a game, but he can't go because of his work schedule...it's a good thing, because i really shouldn't be spending money on a road trip, but he knows as well as anyone that i could have easily been talked into it

Looking forward to a good series, guys.

Don't mind some of the overconfidence on our boards... we're all pretty jacked up to even be in the playoffs this year, considering where everyone predicted us to be in September. I mean, try telling a fanbase that they have no chance against the Rangers, when the same people told us that we'd have no chance at escaping the NHL's cellar dwellers this year, you know?

I think we're in for a good series. You guys are tough, but don't be surprised if we keep up with you in that department. There is LOTS of grit on our team, especially in our bottom 6 forwards... a lot of guys excel along the boards even in a physical game, a lot of our wingers are among the best in the league at coming out of a scrum with the puck. It's been a good quality to have, because we also seem to give the puck away a ton, which, IF you beat us, I'm assuming will be our main undoing: horrible turnovers. It's part and parcel to our high-risk attacking game sometimes.

I think this series will depend on our defence. Some games, we look like machines on our blueline, and others... well... it's easy to see why we're one of the worst teams in GA. Anderson has honestly been STELLAR for us pretty much from November until now. It's our D that will give you opportunities. Andy is one of the main reasons we're even in the playoffs. Guy has literally stood on his head.

Up front, though, I think we match up well against you guys. Like I said, lots of grit, and we can have a VERY aggressive forecheck that gives a lot of defences problems.

All the best to you guys, it looks to be a very exciting series!

Depends on a lot of things: traffic leaving NYC, border, and whether you go through Montreal at rush hour.

If things go smoothly, I'd say 8 hours is about right. It's taken me 10 before when our car got tossed at the border, and we hit nasty traffic on the GW/FDR

The way NYR roughed up Erik Karlsson last time, Ottawa's best player won't be at his best. but Ottawa will be there blow for blow and going into every corner for pucks, these teams are going to go tow to Toe - and it will be a closer series then a lot of people think.

If NYR ever trail in series games I think that Ottawa will win - the pressure on the top team versus a loose #8 will be huge.

As it's been said before, Ottawa has a real problem when teams clog up the neutral zone. The Rangers do tend to trap when they can muster up an early lead. So if they can score a couple of goals first, and play physically, that could be the key to the series.

Yeah, I'm not going to disagree with that.

Sens have to identify the Rangers trap and work around it. We have the skill to play through the trap, but we sometimes get caught trying the same play over and over when it's proven not to work.

Sens need to pressure your D, that's our key to success. Not saying your D is bad at all, clearly they're very good, but from what I've seen of the Rangers blueline this year, an aggressive forecheck and continually putting pressure on key guys leads to turnovers, which is how we've generated a lot of goals this year.

The second we let up on your D, is the second we start to have problems.

I agree though you should respect your opponent. It isn't all Ranger fans boasting about a series win, some the Sens fans have shown some serious over confidence.

No offense, your team isn't all that good. Not to say they couldn't upset the Rangers though.
Aside from Cowen and Phillips, you have a point. You are right, as the highest scoring defence in the ;eague, if I am not mistaken, they move the puck very well and perhaps responsible for the team being in the playoffs in the 1st place.

I think that in the East, all the teams have their strong points. While I think the Rangers are good, I have not believed in them all year and they have proven me wrong finishing where they have. I am still not feeling that they are unbeatable, I think myself and many Sens fans like the way we have played the Rangers. THat is what gives us hope and, ultimately, concerns Ranger fans.

Don't take 87 up through montreal. You are asking for traffic. Take the 81 and go north on I 80 and cross at the 1000 island bridge.

I go to NY every year and there is no comparison. Expect 10 hours unless you can maintain 75 miles an hour and cross the boarder in record time and not pee or need gas.

I think this team has scored 6 goals once this season. Now we can do it twice in one week? I don't think so.
