Stamkos gets #60 and a standing ovation from the awesome Jets' fans. I wish the Jets would have gotten into the playoffs this season because the roof would come off the building.
Sens won the season series 3-1 against the Rangers, and the Caps have the same numbers against the Bruins. Devils-Panthers played 2-2. We won 4-2 against the Penguins of course.
It would be hilarious if the Eastern Conference semi finals will be Flyers-Sens and Devils-Capitals. Not that the season series determine much about how the playoffs series will turn out, but still.
Spot on article. I love all the Pen's fans who commented on it. They really just do NOT see what is going on at all. I mean I know we do not always look at the world without some Flyers biased, but I'd say most of us are reasonable enough to tell the difference between BLIND obsession and a slightly skewed view of the world.
I really hope the Flyers destroy the Pens, but I'm really, really worried **** is going to hit the fan and that the Flyers will be on the receiving end of some really atrocious calls.
The Devils PK has been very, very impressive this season. They only allowed 27 goals against, and also scored 15 goals short handed. Finishing a season -12 on the PK, is that a record? Their PK% was the best since expansion in 1967. Kovalchuk was a plus player with a man down, on the ice for 5 SHGF but only four PPGA. That's ridiculous.

I've noticed they have a very challenging PK over the past couple of years. Very fast and agile. Players get to the puck carrier quickly and force them to make a pass/play. Always a very difficult PK to cycle against.
Darryl Sutter said that he felt the team played like they were satisfied that they made the playoffs. Dumb penalties in the third didn't help.
I didnt see the game in LA, but last night I really thought LA was just going to go out and close the gamne out and finish the game. then they started playing stupid hockey. Once the Sharks tied it, you knew the Kings would lose.

They've been extremely aggressive on the PK this year, I think, even when play has entered the defensive zone. When you get such a system to work, it can be very effective. Zubrus, Parise, Kovalchuk, Henrique and what other forwards they use don't allow much chance to set up play along the boards. One little miscue and they put pressure on you immediately. The down side is of course that they are using their star players so much, even if Kovalchuk looks like he can be on the ice all game atm and Parise is a very smart player, it does mean that they have to use their pluggers a little bit more during 5 on 5 play, or risk tiring their better players.
The league responded to John Tortorella’s withering verbal attack on the Pittsburgh organization, Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin as if the Rangers coach had bellied up to the bar and told Mario Lemieux to go home and get his shine box.
Cherry criticizes crosby, says he should change style of play
Not sure if this was posted elsewhere....

Don Cherry is the latest hockey personality to call out NHL superstar Sidney Crosby for his attitude and his playing style.
Cherry spoke out against the Pittsburgh Penguins captain Saturday during his weekly "Coach's Corner" segment on CBC's Hockey Night in Canada. He joined the chorus of critics who claim Crosby is a cheap player who whines to the referees.
"A long time ago when Crosby was coming out I tried to warn him 'quit diving, quit whining,' I was the worst guy in the world ... and all I was trying to do was help him," Cherry said.
"All I said was stop whining, stop diving and snapping the head back."
Cherry says that Crosby is being targeted by opponents because they don't respect him.
The former Boston Bruins coach said that Crosby has to learn to rise above the physical play of his opponents, or he will get injured.
"If you want to survive in this league, he's got to suck it up and stop getting stupid penalties and going back at guys," Cherry said.
