Any news on JVR yet? Did he have that doctor appoitment?
Per Flyers Facebook
INJURY UPDATE: Flyers GM Paul Holmgren announced that Andrej Meszaros is 2-4 weeks from return due to back surgery; JVR is 2-3 weeks from return due to foot surgery; Briere is out indefinitely with a back injury; Grossmann is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

so essentially, JVR and Mez are done unless we get to the ECF...

JVR update. Winger James van Riemsdyk, recovering from a broken foot, visited a doctor and will be out for at least two to three more weeks, Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren announced. That means he will probably miss the opening round of the playoffs.
The Flyers had been hoping he would be ready for the middle of the first round.
Nick Grossmann (knee) was upgraded to day to day; Andrej Meszaros (back surgery) will miss two to four more weeks, and Danny Briere is still out indefinitely with a back injury, Holmgren said.
Whoever gave 4-6 weeks estimate is obviously full of ****.
Didn't he have some kind of plate inserted by the same surgeon as Jeff Carter to support the healing?
We all know how this slowed down recovery for Carter....
I guess this doctor is almost as brilliant as the guy that complete messed Lindros' brain.

Yup same surgeon who installed that experimental plate in Carter's foot which it was suspected this season gave him trouble. I hope the same was not done to JVR....last thing we need is constant foot problems with JVR like Carter seems to have..
So who comes out of the lineup when Jvr comes back? Rinaldo? He seems to be the only option. You can't put Jvr with coots though, because I don't know if I'd want couturier to have to take on Malkin and also cover for jvrs defensive liabilities...

Rinaldo is the most likely candidate to come out. I would keep the Schenn Briere Simmonds line together since they've had some success and a line of JVR Read Voracek could create some serious problems for teams with all that speed.
Also, I think JVR is average to above average in his own zone. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think he would be a liability if they put him on the 4th for a little while.
Seems like he's still a week plus away anyway so no real point in the speculation but it would be nice to get him back
Yea, get him into games slowly... rinaldo is gonna have to sit, which sucks to say.. but that target on his back is gonna cause us to go on the PK too much.
