Rangers will resign him. 1 year two way contract.
Unless of course another NHL team comes around with an offers sheet.
Btw, I donīt think Zucc will be back for 2nd round (if the Rangers get there). If heīs lucky he will be back for the Conference Finals (and again IF the Rangers are there)
6-8 weeks is the official statement. Could even be more. 6 weeks is end of april (round 2).
We also have to consider the possibility that he just doesnīt go straight in the lineup. Of course if the Rangers are struggling when he is back, maybe a couple games down, maybe the suck in PP, he probably will get his chance.
obviously we all have bigger things to worry about with the playoffs, but zucc is suppose to be back 2nd round (if im not mistaken.) so what are we going to do with him after this season? i originally thought we would trade him at the draft but he looked so good in those few games we gave him before he broke his wrist so i kinda want him in our lineup. anyway will he stay or will he go whether it be by trade or him just leaving?
discus...
he always looks good cor a few games...He will be qbck in Europe..The kid wont ever be a steady NHL player, especially on this club.So who really cares when he is back.He isnt a game breaker and isnt going to lead NYR to the cup and there is no shootout come playoffs.
He's a very creative player that we need to keep. Not sure how he gets into the playoff roster if Kreider is on though since that will already sit Mitchell. Who have to sit for zuke? Fedotenko if he's penciled in? Feds is a proven playoff guy though.
Just a stupid question....
Does Zuke hang around with the guys in the locker room during his injury, perhaps doing som skating (without stickhandling of course...)?
I would imagine he is around the guys while injured. this team is a very tight knit group that he should be around them during the playoffs. He knows all the guys and he's friends with them. Obviously he is resting his shoulder and not doing too much off ice work.
If you had a bunch of friends that met up every week and went out for a night and you had a bum shoulder, would you sulk and not go or would you make the trip even though you might not be able to do some of the things they do?
he tweeted last night or so that he was at a basketball game and that even the smallest player there was huge compared to him - so he has a good sense of humor..
He's likely at the gym and around the guys every day, he can't skate or do anything that stresses his arm...

Do you watch the games? He may not be a game breaker but he does great things for us on the PP and passing.
He's never had a long enought stretch to prove or disprove whether he will have staying power as a bona fide NHLer. Certainly there is nothing from him so far to make the Rangers not think he could be.
Ok.
If it takes 8 weeks,he should be ready to go by may 22. How far has the PO gotten by then?
When would round two end? What about round three?
When do the SC finals first game be?

If we look at last year the dates were
1st round (april 13th - april 26th)
2nd round (april 28th - may 12th)
3nd round (may 14th - may 27th)
Final (June 1st - June 15th)
But I guess the dates depend on how many games are played. Last year there were 7 games series in every round.
According to this, Zuke would be back around the middle of 2nd round if gone 6 weeks. If he is gone 8 weeks, heīll be ready in the middle of round 3.
We also have to take in to consideration that he (probably) hasnīt been on ice since the injury, and even if his wrist is healthy, he will have about 2 months lack of ice practice....
It would be a huge surprise if Zuke is dressed for this Playoff.
I hope he comes back in the playoffs. And gets resigned. He improved all the areas he needed to play at the NHL level. We had another dimension to our game with the creativity he brought. We could use that right now.

I believe cast is off...working out off ice, but not skating...not close...RT @Kevin_Boland: @JimCerny Hey Jim, any updates on zucc?

i dont know what games you were watching but zucc was absolutely not an improvement in any 5 on 5 situations. he's great for the power play if you want to scratch a guy like mitchell next year and play zucc 6-8 minutes of 5 on 5 and then some power play minutes, but he never showed once this year that he deserves more even strength minutes

But. He had 6:58 avergage TOI ES. So that is almost pretty much exactly in the middle of 6-8 minutes. And he's great in the PP. Don't know what you diagree about?
