Oh God, Dick Butkus went over the PA to call out the coach on a coaching move? I missed that, but that had to be awesome, even if it was really a joke.


I could only imagine "Hey, Andy Reid, you know that was real stupid to go for it on 4th Down."

I remember that Butkus went nuts on the broadcast about how gutless the NY coach was for whatever he did, as he went on to win the game. And was still being called gutless because he didn't talk long with the reporter.


It was completely uncredible, but sometimes it was great television.

I would have rather watched the CFL, and if I was a player I would have rather played in the CFL too. The XFL was an interesting idea, but it became too much of a joke, like a parody of itself, too focused on the show to actually play football.

I think I watched the first game and that's it. AFL had better level of competition.

Looking back I think I liked the uniforms/logos and nicknames on the jerseys more than the actual on field product.

I was an Outlaws "fan" because of He Hate Me. Smart ended up getting an NFL job from that and lasted about 5 years with the Eagles then Carolina as a KR/backup RB.
