Jamie Lundmark... 5 minutes for fighting???

Just browsing through the boxscores and noticed pretty boy Jamie got a major for a fight with Steve Ott. Can't wait to see this one... I'll bet he looks like Rob Lowe in the fight scene with his dad in "Youngblood"

Believe it or not, Lundmark used to fight when he was touted as being a good player.

I had a buddy that got into a scrap with Lundmark at a Dub camp one year. It wasn't pretty.

Consider me absolutely shocked by that. Maybe if he acted like he ever gave a damn when he was here, he'd still be here

Lundmark fought Markov of the Flyers at the end of the last season. No huge surprise here.

I'm wondering if there was some prior bad blood with Ott. If I'm not mistaken they were teammates at one time on a Canadian WJC team.

Ott's just a pain in the butt to play against. Now if you told me he fought Mike Modano I'd be a little more confused.

In juniors he could be a scrappy player. That's one reason I saw a lot of Roenick in him back then.

But like a lot of junior stars, as the competition got bigger and stronger he wasn't quite as eager to get the cuts and bruises.

When you're fighting a 6'0, 170 pound 17-year old you tend to have bigger hanging balls then what you have to go up against a 6'5, 225 pound 27 year old defenseman.

It happens to a lot of players. You see guys whose pim get cut in half as they move to the pros, and it isn't because they found discipline.

The refs broke it up before anything could get started. They dropped the gloves, grabbed each other, got twisted around and the refs broke it up. If you're gonna give fighting majors out, at least let the players fight. sorry, i'm ranting. I love me a good hockey fight
