So the Giants open the season being swept and had a game they SHOULD HAVE WON but choked it away. New year, same team. I already feel bad for the pitchers.

Huh? Feel bad for the pitchers? The BLAME is on the pitchers. The problem right now isn't scoring it's the pitching.

the ball does carry a lot in chase field, that may be the reason for the great hitting and poor pitching so far.

Diamondbacks had what, 5 errors today in the field? Miley shut the Giants offense down after Collmenter was in the game.

Giants had Cain going, with a 6 run cushion, but blew the lead, and their defense also helped us out. The poor pitching is what it is, because the aces haven't been on their game the whole time. Lincecum in game 1 of the series actually struck out 5 in a row at one point, but he left some pitches where they shouldn't have been in the 1st.

I don't feel sorry for any of them, I'm glad the Giants lost all 3 games. But they are going to be scary if they are going to hit like that all season.

When you score 12 runs you should win 99/100. Bullpen was an issue for Boston last year so what do they do? Watch Papelbon leave via free agency and move Bard to rotation while only adding Bailey (who is now injured). Their starters have been getting lit up so far. They can score with the best of them.

It probably sounds like I'm hating on Sox but in a toughest division in baseball they just dont look good early at all. Too many issues with pitching. Their next 12 games are against Jays, Rays, Yanks and Rangers. I think Jays take at least 2/3 from them.

I said this in the Jays GDT that the Red Sox don't look good at all. This is just looking at their team on paper not with the recent results against Detroit. Their bullpen is terrible. Probably worse than what the Jays had last year. The starters are questionable. Their bottom three/four batters aren't that great. I doubt Ellsbury has a year like he did last year and Youkilis always seems to get injured.

I'm not sold on the Jays starting rotation but if they can come through the Jays will finish ahead of Boston. I think the Sox had problems in the clubhouse as well last year which doesn't help especially when you start losing.

So any baseball expert on espn or anywhere still want to deny that Comerica is an absolute pitcher's nightmare lol?

My main concern with the Sox is that bullpen, Melancon and Aceves aren't exactly star caliber.

Hammels has settled in, looking for some offensive support now.

And the Sammy Sosa Award for Most Idiotic Injury of the Year goes to...

http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/ey...-of-mayonnaise

Mark Buehrle!

Buehrle cut his thumb trying to open a jar of mayonnaise on Thursday, hours before facing the Reds.

I came in to make a sandwich and they said, 'You know we have people who can make sandwiches for you,'" Buehrle told the Palm Beach Post. "(I said) 'I'm a grown man, I can make my own sandwich.'

it is 2-0 now, it might as well be over. Ump isnt giving Cole any borderline calls.

86 pitches only in the 5th inning. Not his day. What's more surprising is the Phillies have been blanked for 4 innings so far. I'm envious of that crowd though, mad props to Phillies fans. It's like that every game of the year.

Im not blaming him at all, he has pitched fine. The starters have given up 5 runs in 25 innings so far, they have been great but they have zero room for error with this offense. They just cant hit with Howard and Utley back. As far as the crowd goes, it been great the past 5 or 6 years. That being said, if they are going to continue to keep on going down quietly at the plate without a fight.

Mark Buehrle!
I don't understand this. Was he trying to open the jar with a knife?

Man I love mlb.tv but after 2 days I'm already tired of seeing the same 3 commercials every break.

Panda going yard in the top of the 1st. I'll root for the Giants today, and put both Rockies/Giants at 1-3, and hope they split the last 2 games. Huff with a double down the line. If the Giants keep hitting, they scare me.

That's why you should be hoping for Rockies sweep. IMO Giants are Arizona's biggest threat.

Ha, that's a very good point. But I dislike the Rockies too.. lol

Good for the fans for the "Tulo" chant they do, but one of the more overrated players IMO.

How so? He's the total package and the best shortstop in the league by far.

-Hits for average and power
-Great on-base guy
-Excellent fielder

Might just be I hate him as a division rival. And I don't want to play this game, because I really don't think it should matter, but he does play at Coors Field.

That certainly helps, but career-wise, he's still an .800-plus OPS shortstop on the road. There aren't too many of those in baseball. If any Rockie is overrated, it's CarGo. He goes from all-world, Hall of Fame-caliber superstar at home (.990 OPS) to mediocre at best on the road (.742 OPS).

I take my comment back. - It must just be the hatred for the Rockies to ignore greatness.
