Darche found a job.

#RDS est fier d’accueillir @matdarche52 dans son équipe d’analystes des séries de la Coupe Stanley

Should be interesting.

New RDS Analyst (Darche)

C'est confirmé, #canadiens Mathieu Darche (@matdarche52) sera analyste à #RDS en série. Très bonne acquisition.

Temporary thing?

Probably not retiring. I've seen this happen in Football, where after the Lions and the Packers were eliminated from playoffs, they had Ndamakong Suh and I believe Aaron Rodgers on the panel to do analysis of the playoffs.

Good now Habs don't have to feel as bad letting him go in the summer since he has a job.

I don't understand the Darche hate. The guy's a tough, relentless skater with a ton of heart and decent talent. It's not his fault he was overused on the PP by Martin. He's a valuable fourth line forward who's one of the smarter players in the game. Good for him and best of luck.

I am happy for him. He was supposed to play in the ahl all his career and he got a chance to play for the habs. Good on him and i am not surprised that rds hired him as an analyst.

I wonder if the TV crews are going to blur the glaringly obvious erections his co-analysts are going to have from his presense.

Hope TV works out for him, cause I sure as **** don't want him on our hockey team again. Good guy, I'm happy for him for everything he's accomplished against the odds.. But no, just no to playing on this team.

yeah but his haters have pretty much set their mind that he sucks and that likely won't change

imo his only flaw as a player is that he doesn't fight. everything else he does above what is asked of him - even if it's a role he isn't suited for

Makes sense, Darche is a lot smarter than some of the guys already on RDS.

The hate is irrational, if you have to hate someone hate Martin for playing him on the power play (even that isn't as ridiculous as some think, he's a good screener) and Gauthier/Gainey for giving us such little wing depth that Darche found himself occasionally on the second line.

I don't hate the guy. I'm not going to get into it, because it's just going to open a whole new debate that's been discussed to death on these forums and is going to end badly.

He's a good 13th-14th forward. Should not play more than 40 games in a regular season barring an onslaught of injuries. That's my evaluation of him, and I stand by it.

Yup, that's what I think too. In an ideal world you have vets like Darche and Stabutiz as veteran 13th and 14th forwards to fill roles and to prevent having to send AHLers back and forth when you get injuries.

No hate. I wanted him signed for this year. Even as 13th forward I'm not sure its the best move for us going into next year.

The way I see it I want Moen, White and Staubitz back. So Blunden, Darche and Noke need to go. Darche is replaceable and I want a bit more skill in this lineup. It's great to have strong big tough guys but you need to compliment them with skill.

I'd like Staubitz back more than Darche at this point. However I wouldn't mind both of them as insurance. Ideally as the 13th and 14th forward respectively.

When I read the thread title I immediately assumed it would be working for Jacques Martin at home or something.

That's his only flaw? Are you his agent by chance or somehow related to him?
