Players "No Comment" questions on Subban

Per RDS.

Many players, including Markov, have refused to answer questions on PK Subban today. Subban commented that it must be hard for some players to see a rookie get a sponsorship deal before they even step on the ice, and to hear the people chant his name.

Trouble in paradise?

Drama.

This was Markov pissed about being asked about Subban during his briefing. Markov has always been short lipped, but even if he has a beef with PK he should suck it up, PK has taken over his title as the Habs franchise defenseman

I like how they made that their "show-opening" news

Everybody knows Subban is a loud kid. Some of his teammates should deal with it, because the last thing I know is seeing him getting shipped out of town because of conflicts in the locker room.

My question is did the media only ask questions about Subban?

Did they ask the team about Price? or Markov? or Plekanec??

Once again a media generated story about nothing.

Step 1) Ask players negative leading question about PK
Step 2) Get no comments or negative responses
Step 3) Blow it out of proportion, create controversy.

Reanaud Lavoie said no players wanted to comment on PK. He then went to PK to talk about the fact that nobody wanted to talk about him, PK gave him his answer.

Now you either believe him or not, it's up to you.

Stuff like this is a non issue when the team wins and makes the playoffs...when they don't they make a big issue out of it.

PK still has some progressing to do in terms of maturity...plus maybe have better 1st halfs, he plays much better in the 2nd half.

At this point, there is no way you even entertain the possibility of trading him.

Norman Flynn's comments regarding the situation mirror my thoughts to a T.

PK is gonna be PK. I thought he was far more "in line" as the season progressed. It's normal for some team mates not to like each other or have conflicting personalities. It happens on a daily basis in real life for all of us at our jobs/school as well, heck even on this forum many of us share different views and may not get along because of it.

Days of Our Habs / As the Puck Turns through the ages.

2005-2008: Koivu and Kovalev hate each other, Roman Hamrik leading the Hell's Angels, Kovalev causing AK46 to be lazy.
2008-2010: Price and Halak hate each other.
2011-Future: Everybody hates Subban.

I thought "veterans" like Markov are suppose to be able to handle tough situations like a brash, young, but talented player. Who knew "veterans" have big egos that they don't like giving up.

I guess that dispels the theory that you need veterans to lead your team and show the young guys how it's done.

Imagine what the veteran leaders are going to do when Yakupov or Grigorenko walks into the later room and is treated like a god immediately.

Exactly, the media has to come up with stories. This is another non-story just to create a buzz.

Trading Subban for anything less than a budding 22-year old star defenseman coming back would be lateral move at best. Markov's days as the Montreal Canadiens top defenseman are finished. It's the Subban-era now.

He's still young. It's up to the leaders of this club, both players and staff, to find a way to teach Subban the ''white'' way.

Lol overreaction here

Im sure the players were told by the big boss not to answer that kind of questions in order to avoid controversies

If they had asked Markov to make a comment on any of his teammates, he would have said no comment...the guy doesn't want to talk about anyone...he hates dealing with the media....

Anyhow, PK is a star in the making, glad he is on the Habs...
