Gaming Mechanical Keyboards

I tried a mechanical keyboard at PAX East and loved it. I was going to buy one but the LED lights are only red which will look odd with everything else I have that lights up blue.

I really don't know too much about mechanical keyboards and was looking for some recommendations here. The most important thing to me is that I can press as many keys as possible and the computer will register each one all at the same time without an issue.

It has to be black. I would like an LED backlit keyboard that lights up blue but the LED lights aren't a huge factor for me.

Anybody want to recommend any for me? I was looking at the Razer BlackWidow, probably even the Ultimate Stealth edition. I love the fact that those could register 6 key strokes at once. I also see they have some "silent" keys. I know mechanical keyboards are louder but it being more silent than the average mechanical keyboard would be nice.

Edit - Oh yeah, I know there's a mechanical keyboard with special WASD keys. That one isn't for me because I use ESDF to move in all my games.

I haven't owned one since the early 90's... but for my new build the one's i've been reading a lot of good things about from pro modders/gamers are "Ducky shine's."

Overclock.net sells them I believe... here's their forum topic on the keyboards:

I'll highly recommend the Blackwidow. It's been fantastic for me so far both in terms of gaming and university assignments.

Thanks for some recommendations, more would certainly be welcome!!

Where can I read reviews on the Ducky one? I don't even see where to buy it on overclock.net

I'm worried that that Corsair K90 will be too big for my desk. I never really play RPGs that those side keys are designed for. I have a Logitech G110 now that I got for free last year at PAX East and I am still yet to use those keys yet.

Those wasdkeyboards look expensive. The idea of custom keyboards is cool but it looks like to match something like the BlackWidow, I'd be spending a good amount more. Those sound-dampening rings push the price up quite a bit. That was really my only complaint about mechanical keyboards so having it as silent as possible would be a huge plus for me.

?? The WASD keyboards are $3 cheaper than the Ducky one. You can also pick what colour switches you want if you want them loud or quiet.

If you want a cheap mechanical one. Razer blackwidow is the way to go. It's a solid keyboard to for $79

Well I was looking at the ones with the sound dampening rings, that's what ends up making it so much more expensive.
