I heard Mario threatened to move/sell the pens if we weren't disrespected by the media

I honestly couldn't care less. It's on the team to prove them wrong.

Until we get it done more than one round, the predictions of us NOT doing more is justified.

Bottom line is the Rangers have to prove they are better than the pundits predict.

The Reg. Season has no bearing on the Post Season. This is the time we change minds or prove the pundits correct.

Three of the talking heads on Sportsnet here in Canada had the Rangers winning the East, with 2 guys taking them to win the Cup. Kypreos had some obvious bias (he picked the boys to bring home Stanley), but there are certainly some media on-board. The other two names escape me at the moment, though.

Vegas has the Rangers at 11-2, tied for second best with the Canucks, last time I checked, too.

I'm terrified seeing the Rangers as one of the 'favourites'. It's been so long, I don't think I remember how to feel about this!

I would prefer that the Rangers were being disrespected.

Drager thinks we are prime for an upset playing Ottawa.

To be honest, I can't say I fully disagree. Yes, the playoffs are a different animal, but they did beat us 3-1 in the season series. Gotta respect that because they are capable of beating us. I know we beat Washington last year in the regular season series, but I think we could've won that playoff series against them if Callahan didn't break his ankle against the Bruins and we didn't have a few boneheaded screw ups during the series. The Sens have a better chance than most people think. Although, I do believe we'll win in five games. I would not be surprised if it went 6 or even 7.

Just because one guy thinks that a team that went 3-1 against another team can upset them it doesn't mean that said team is being disrespected. The Rangers are being favored by everyone to win and easily.

Win the first series then let me know who we are playing in the next round. I love the thought of a Rangers-Devils matchup.

This season, I like to remember these lines. They're a compilation of Rangers fans, Flyers fans, NHL experts, Pens fans...you name it.

END OF LAST SEASON: "FIRE TORTS!!!!!"
PRE-SEASON: "The Rangers will struggle to make the playoffs"
PRE-WINTER CLASSIC: "The Rangers will start slumping after the Classic"
PRE-ALL-STAR: "The Rangers will start choking after the break"
POST-ALL-STAR BREAK: "They cant keep this up much longer"
PRE-PLAYOFFS: "The defense cant keep this up. Lundqvist cant keep this up. They cant score"

Almost as much as I want to see the Rangers make a run for the Cup, I cant wait to see the Golden Franchise get knocked out in the first round by the Flyers!

I almost never go to ESPN for hockey coverage, but with the Rangers playing Ottawa TSN isn't a great option for coverage either. I clicked on the Rangers-Sens preview and the video that popped up had Scott Burnside (who I can't stand to begin with) talking about how the Rangers won't get past Pittsburgh and how they are just too good and will come out of the east.

nice rangers-sens matchup video. jeez.

http://espn.go.com/nhl/playoffs/2012...ttawa-senators

I read a post on the main board from a pens fan who couldn't understand how a san jose fan for example could complain about crosby being "shoved down their throat," I guess meaning that the hate should only come from division rivals. Then I see a video like this and it just blows my mind.

i think the east is wide open, and really, any of the 8 teams could come out of it (except ottawa )

fair enough, the pens are seen as the favorites, but i dont think they're that much better...

they're strong at center, but the rangers have the better defense/goaltending

and besides, the pens will be very lucky to get out of this series with philly without some kind of injury concerns

well the esteemed experts over at THN predicted a playoff bubble team based on an "inexperienced" and "untested" defense for NY

after reading that drivel

I prefer the disrespect

makes the season just that much sweeter

Rangers must turn their game around by 360 degree including the PP in order to prove the opposite. I can see this team lose in the first round the way they played the last couple of months. They should display the same effort they showed us in November. Our defense has to be alert and play a main role in the playoffs in order to compete with more talented teams. I would love to see secondary scoring from Dubisky, Anisimov and Boyle and some occasional from Feds and Rupp. I believe they can go all the way this season but not without Henriks not human performance and luck from the hockey gods.
