My extreme distaste for Detroit a given -- I have family in Nashville, and have been to at least one game there every season since the Preds' inaugural. As a fan, I consider myself semi-vested. My point being I don't consider myself a bandwagoner nor am I rotting for the Preds merely because of my hatred for the Wings.

So the enemy of my enemy is my friend?

I'm in a similar situation, complete with family in the area (although when I go there for games, it's usually with BFC).

I usually tend to think of myself as driving the bandwagon.

Only in part. There's some legit fandom there; DSL's just not as overt about this stuff as I am.

Wings fans are blinded by their Red glasses. Come weds they will be blinded by a sea of gold and a raucous crowd.

Oh, they also think that our team is a dirty bunch and will try to injure Franzen and Datsyuk. Lol.

OT: does anyone else get tired of 1045 the zone coverage of the Preds?!? It's minimal to none. I'd listen to 1025 the game but they don't have a midday show. I am on road by 8am my time and by then it is 10am in Nashville so I have 5 hours of dead time til 3pm. Pisses me off

That's what I like to see....keep those tickets out of the hands of Dead Things fans

If two have a common enemy, wouldn't that make them allies?

I see a lot of people rooting for the Preds becuse of their hatred towards Detroit

I still have my #21 Tom Fitzgerald t-shirt I bought during the first season, if that makes a difference.

The few times I've heard the 3HL crew try to discuss the Predators, it's been laughably bad. Their interviews are OK, but when they start trying to discuss, it's clear they don't really watch the Preds or hockey.

Personally, I'm grateful. Clay Travis is a first-class @#$#$# and I don't want him anywhere near the Preds. I do like Blaine, but unfortunately, you can't get just one.

I have XM radio, so I listen to NHL Home Ice most days. Obviously they spend a lot of time talking about teams other than the Preds, but it's still hockey talk, so it's fine with me. I'd much rather hear that than a discussion of the latest LA/Miami basketball game.

To be fair, the local radio shows talk about what the callers are calling about.

Sad to say that in the south Bobby Petrino wrecking his motorcycle with a 25 year old woman with him in April gets a lot more attention than Preds/Wings 1st round matchup.

I like 3HL a lot, but this week I think I'll be listening to Willy D. on 102.5 instead.

Go Preds!

I just want to know if anyone's going to the all for the hall concert on Tuesday at the Bridge... I hope that they have had that dehumidifer running for a couple of days, and those people better be cold as ice jumping around.....

slightly off topic, but has anyone else had success posting tickets for the game on ticketexchange? I was able to list them, but there are no tickets listed on the ticketexchange webpage.

Thanks

As much as I don't want to see the Kraken play this series, I wish he could play for one shift, beat the unholy hell out of Bertuzzi in a fight, then get scratched again

Won't happen... McGrattan is too big for Bert to jump from behind.

Wish they could drop the puck already, all this waiting around for playoff hockey sucks!

We are certainly getting plenty of respect around the league:

On ESPN, 10 out of 12 hockey writers picked the Preds, and on NHL.com 11 out of 13 experts picked us to knock out the Red Wings......

Doing some quick math, that is 21 out of 25..

I have to admit everyone picking us is making me a little nervous- now its time to go out and prove it on the ice.......

Also, on the NHL.com preview page, 5 of the 13 experts picked the Preds to make the finals- 4 had us playing the Pitt, 1 Boston.

I cannot imagine how incredible a Pens/Predators Stanley Cup final would be- I would crawl to Nashville from Birmingham for that!

I've totally switched to 102.5 for the hockey coverage. I occasionally listen to 104.5 for the morning show but usually for just a few minutes.

I almost hate it that we are apparently the trendy "dark horse" pick....

I kinda wish everyone would go back to underestimating us...
