Seems obvious. Win Lottery, take Yakupov. Pick second, take Murray.

What's the chance of trading the pick? There's a bunch of d-men in the top 10. If they're keen on others and there's a nice offer, why not make the deal to move down a few picks. Of course it depends on the deal, but there may be somebody out there willing to overpay to get Grigorenko.

Is Murray really, really significantly better than the rest of the defencemen in the top 10?

If NYI, Montreal or Toronto offered their pick and a good, established player I would do it. Getting Dumba, Reinhart, Grigorenko, Galchenyuk or Murray would be fine with me, really, and another player on top of it?

IMO getting a skilled center with size is virtually impossible these day's unless you are a cup contender who can real in that type of free agent. Gagne has been horrible and 2nd line center is just as Important imo as a good D. If this was a discussion last year though I would take Larsson.

Though if Murray can be a guy who racks up alot of assists and play's solid d I guess that is hard to find as well. Hopefully this draft works out, it seems like this one has the most potential for bust. I'd hate to tank this season and end up with a Cam Barker. That would be a nightmare lol. If we could get another top 10 pick somehow that would be great, I just don't see us having the assets to get one. PRV I doubt will get anything right now, I doubt other teams are looking for a guy who couldn't crack a lineup with guy's like Horcoff and Belanger on it.

If Columbus retains the #1 pick, we're probably going to take Murray. I'd really like to get another 1st round pick to draft Faksa, Gaunce, or some other big center, though.

Having a better player play beside you wont inflate your stats and make you look better?

They're relatively similar the qmjhl, whl and chl. Thus the memorial cup.
Again with this?

Roy, who plays on Grigorenko's line, has a higher ppg than Grigorenko.

Of course you know this, because weve done this dance before.

And there is the little matter of Grigorenko being fifth in scoring on his team in the playoffs.

The more I hear about Galchenyuk the more I like him. A number of talking heads have him rated above Grigor too. However, there's no way i can see Tambo using a pick that high on a guy who's only really had one season to judge him on.

I'm pretty convinced the Oilers will take Murray at #2. In fact, thinking about making a "Welcome Ryan" sign. Yes to getting another first round pick and grabbing Faksa! I'd do it in a heartbeat if we could. Why did Faksa have to climb up in the ranking so much :'(

I think everyone might have to get a helmet ready for draft day in the off chance that CBJ actually does take Murray...

I've been thinking of this all day! Faksa makes too much sense for us to take him... Easy transition with Czech teammates, wants to get drafted by Edmonton, big tough C with great work ethic, and is Rieder's linemate!
http://blogs.edmontonjournal.com/201...d-they-oblige/

Gagner Marincin for Was (col) pick...

Or trade #2 overall with NYI for #4 & #34...

Then swap say Gagner and #32 for a top 10 pick or so and come out of the draft with a combo of Dumba/Galy/Riely/Reinhart/Faksa...

I'd like to have a dman with Faksa!

Cmon guys. Lets get a hold of ourselves here. Just because some donkeys released a really, really bad list ranking draft eligible players, does not mean nhl teams see things the same way. In fact, I can pretty much guarantee that they dont.

I had just this wild proposal in my head

CBJ trades Rick Nash to Washington for Mike Green & (the Colorado pick) still drafts Yakupov , but eases the blow with getting the "russian" and something else

I think there in the position that you need a marquee player back with Nash most likely traded, and you still need an impact player.

Murray may be impact but not marquee and I think any deal that doesn't center around that will be hard on the CBJ fanbase

I doubt donkeys are capable of fathoming the concept of Central Scouting. But if they are....

They also have Ashton Sautner ranked about twenty or thirty spots ahead of Cody Corbett.

Anyone who watches the Oil Kings knows that is a farce.

The list is a joke.

Pay zero attention to it.

Gimme a break. You're just overrating Oil Kings players.

Pretty sure you need to do your math again grig has highest ppg on his team. Grigorenko is the best player on the remparts, in his first season. Also they're both tied for 4th on their team in the playoffs.
