EpicNeilTime Mock Draft

.) Nail Yakupov - Duh

.) Ryan Murray - Will help a team with need for a top pairing defensman. All set upfront, start loading up the D prospects. Couldn't go wrong with Grigorenko either.

.) Mikhail Grigorenko - Elite #1 who will be the face of the franchise. Will join the team next year and dominate on the second line.

.) Alex Galchenyuk - Already have a solid number of prospects but will add a boom/bust type. NYI will have to take their time with this one, but could be a top-line center and form a dangerous top-6 in the future.

.) Filip Forsberg - Have a number of good D prospects in Gardiner, Holzer, Blacker, and Percy so they take an under-rated Swede who loves to score. Can't go wrong but would've preferred Galchenyuk.

.) Matt Dumba - Will add an amazing D prospect to an already great core. Insurance if they do lose Shultz.

.) Jacob Trouba - Cam Fowler slipped two seasons ago, Wild will take notice and take him early.

.) Cody Ceci - I think he could turn out to be the best D man in this draft. I've seen him play numerous of times this year and has never disappointed. Doesn't excel at one thing, but doesn't have any weaknesses either.

.) Sebastien Collberg - The Jets go off the board a little and go with another silky-Swede who will bring Jets fans to their feet in a couple years. Reminds me of Burmistrov who is one of my favorite players.

.) Morgan Reilly - The Lightning are more then happy to select the offensive stud. They loaded up on D at the trade deadline but the pipeline isn't very strong. Add a guy who will be a top pairing/power play QB for years to come.

.) Griffin Reinhart - Another D who slipped a little, but Washington are happy to pick him up. He'll be a shutdown defensman the team has lacked the past couple years. Really solidifies their D. Reminds me of a poorman's Victor Hedman.

.) Radek Faska - Sabres want center prospects, well they add a fantastic 2-way center.

.) Derrick Pouliot - The Stars could go either way, but still make a great choice picking Pouliot. Could look very good with Oleksiak in the future.

.) Zemgus Girgensons - Calgary doesn't have the best prospects so they take a safe pick on a player in the USHL having a great year. Great size too.

.) Slater Koekkoek - The Sens take Koekkoek who's been injured for the most of the year, but the Sens have been known to take players in their draft year. It's a risk but it's paid off so far in Cowen, Stone, and Puempel. Koekkoek isn't a flashy player but will look good on the Sens D. Another option is Martin Frk aka the second coming of Martin Havlat.

.) Colton Sissons - Taking a D already, they go with another Western boy in Sissons who is a great leader and will add tremendous depth to the Caps. May have a Knuble role in the future.

.) Teuvo Teravainen - Already stacked with prospects, the Panthers take a potential superstar in the making that they don't need to rush and can develop on their own. Can take the risk on a long term investment.

.) Matt Finn - Already took Yakupov, they look for a steady D man playing for Guelph who plays a defensive role. Safe pick but Columbus isn't complaining.

.) Brendan Gaunce - A steady two-way forward with second line potential. Could play wing and adds depth to a strong San Jose team. Could be playing in the NHL sooner then later.

.) Stefan Matteau - Coyotes love drafting from the US U-18 team and are stacked on D. Add a gritty forward with an offensive upside.

.) Ludvig Bystrom - They already have a Ludvig in the system, might as well add another. But seriously, he's had a very good year and could be a cornerstone of the Blackhawks D in a couple years. Similar to Nick Leddy.

.) Forfeit Pick

.) Scott Kosmachuk - For some reason I really like him, and could have a Ryan Malone impact on Bolts despite not being the biggest guy around. He's feisty and a competitor with a great work ethic.

.) Pontus Aberg - Bruins add a very good Swedish prospect who is very similar to Collberg. They don't need to rush him and can develop in Sweden. Boston is very deep and have good forward prospects but you can always add more.

.) Olli Maatta - The Flyers need help everywhere besides centers so they take the highly rated Fin. A rough start to the year has translated to a great second half and has emerged into a great D prospect.

.) Tom Wilson - The Sabres have seen what a guy like Marcus Foligno can do to a team, so they draft a power forward in the making. Could be a Lucic type or a 4th line grinder. I think the Sabres want the first one...

.) Martin Frk - When hasn't the Pens needed wingers? Well they finally get a the speedy Czech. He overcame an injury this year but could develop into a top 6 forward role and has the offensive skill to do so. It's a matter of waiting to see if he can translate that into the NHL.

.) Michael Matheson - I think he's easily one of the most underrated defensman in the draft. A first round talent could turn into a real gem for the Blues.

.) Cristoval Nieves - Easily one of the most intriguing players in the draft. Could be a huge steal.

.) Dalton Thrower - Another very underrated defensman who plays a very strong game. The Canucks have some defensive prospects, but could always add more. And they add a good one.

Don't mind this at all. Kinda leaning toward Forsberg lately so a little bummed that this played against Anaheim's favor, but where we're drafting...we're lucky to have one of Grigorenko, Galchenyuk, Trouba, Dumba, Forsberg. So no complaints either way.
