The guy in that gif looks familiar, I want to say Mad Tv, but I think I'd be wrong.

Honestly, I can see the presser going from him apologizing to saying we'll be a playoff team next season. At this point, he's got nothing to lose. If he doesn't make the playoffs next year he's toast. Then again, if this management team would get their heads out of their ass and do a proper rebuild Leafs nation would be fine with it. Never understood why Burke and co made it clear that the fans couldn't handle a rebuild which is ridiculous. That's what we all wanted from the get go.
please, for the love of god, take some blame. All we want to see is that you can in fact recognize that you have made some mistakes.
People always say this but what can he really say? You guys do realize that if he takes blame he will essentially be throwing certain players under the bus. The only thing he can say is that he underestimated the amount of time the rebuild would take, but even then his players are still going to catch some heat
I hope he does take a bit of blame and seem like he's looking for some empathy. "I'm sorry, but turning around a franchise is not an easy thing to do in a span of three years." But then precedes to take shots at other organization's management, like his buddy Tambi. "I'm mean, look at Edmonton. They've missed the playoffs for how many years now and have had how many top draft picks? And still that team is in total disarray."
Kinda irrelevant when every team spends about the same due to the cap.
Not so sure about that... the Sens spent $12M less and got into the playoffs with what on paper appears to be less proven and lesser known players.
The Leafs payroll exceeds that of the Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins. Florida, St. Louis, Phoenix and Nashville all spent in the $51-54M range and performed above their expectations. Having a $63M+ payroll and finishing in the bottom five is putrid.
