Sorry for a possible triple post. For some reason when I try and tab and backspace, it is read as hitting post quick reply.
Anyhow, Bruins: Park, Ratelle, Bucyk Oreilly
Other players:
Robinson
Sittler
Greschner
Lafleur
Perrault
Edit: Makita...didn't see as much of him as I would have liked.

Ditto, though in my case from the late 50's through mid 60's. With fewer teams & players, no helmets or masks, players recognizable. As a kid during that era most could probably name players out there sans numbers they were all so familiar. Players revered & admired in a much much smaller league. Picking favorites a tough job.

yep, I really got into it big time in 56-57 when I was 10. Had a brother 6 years older who was a big Gordie Howe/Red Wing fan. He had old hockey cards back to 50-51. We had the old Beeehive photos all over our bedroom wall. I can still name the lines and defense pairings from the late 50's

I always think of Dixie Beehives when someone mentions the old Beehive Honey Cards, and as it follows quite naturally the Chicago Blackhawks as the Beehives were at one time part of their feeder system.

Though I grew up in Toronto I wasnt then nor am I know a rabid Leafs fan nor was I ever awestruck by any single player, preferred to play the game rather than watch it.

Sure guys like Hull grabbed my attention, but so too did many of the lesser lights whenever I did tune in with their play, be they diggers with tenacity or whatever.

Indeed, it was often the 2nd, 3rd liners that gave me bang for the buck, interesting & highly skilled journeyman, promising rookies. Guys like Pappin, Dennis Hull, Denis Dejordy etc all providing exhibitions of how to play effectively & consistently without oodles of natural talent but certainly more than enough to still be considered stars in their own right.

As a kid growing up in Pittsburgh, there's Mario Lemieux and every other human being ever. I think I'd take a bullet for that man.

I was mixed. My favorite player was Danny Grant of the North Stars. But I was also a massive fan of the "Big Bad Bruins" and really loved watching Bobby Orr and Derek Sanderson.

As an Avs fans obvious my favorites would include Joe Sakic, Foppa, Roy, the Duke etc. Outside of my favorite team tho my All-Time favorite player would be Pavel Bure. Feels weird as he was mostly a Canuck but still easily numero uno outside of Colorado.

Theo Fleury
Eric Lindros
Felix Potvin
