Burke is going to blame the Leafs' lack of success this year on his having to demote Colton Orr to the minors, and again declare that "the rats" are ruining the NHL.

He will make it about himself, as usual.. "I have never had a team collapse like this".

Well, Harvard-man, it's not like it's never happened befor just because you were lucky enough not to lose a bunch of games at the end of the season before.

There will be an apology and a bunch of excuses and then he will say "there are no excuses"

Why do people keep saying here come a bunch of excuses? Every year he's the one that has taken the blame at these end of the year pressers. its the players that keep making dumbass excuses.

Makes sense.

Reminds me of Steve Moore's well-timed press conference a few years ago.
Lol, you do realize that he's not announcing it to the entire NHL. The press conference is clearly for fans of the team. Otherwise known as Burke's state of the union.

It's not uncommon for teams to do it. It's not his fault you care about it.

Its not that we care, its kind of like people rubber necking as they pass a car accident. We all see the smoke and flames and can't help but look and see what is going on.

What did Burke say to warrant that kind of comment?

Some tidbits from his press-conference:

Team is not tough enough. Changes will be made this off-season. Offer up your pugnacious players, the Leafs are buyers.

Wouldn’t trade McArthur for a 1st-round pick to a team that might pick 26-30th. He said that Leaf fans would then have to wait three years for that asset to become a player, if it became a player, and he doesn’t want Leaf fans to wait.

Dissed the “Pittsburgh model” for building a team, saying they won a lottery (Crosby). No mention of Malkin, Fleury, Orpik and Whitney.

Carlyle was great, Burke yikes!

Burke says that roster will have to change to suit Carlyle's coaching style.......the UFA and trading market ain't what it used to be..........

Burke said no one was complaining about Reimer prior to his concussion (which apparently wasn't a concussion but a neck injury)

Not that we care You all wonder why the Leafs are always on the front page of every newspaper, website and get so much coverage yet forget that you're the reason why.

Haters love to hate the Leafs. Fans love the Leafs.

Just as entertaining as Montreal's "subtle" use of the affirmative action card this season.

That and your train wreck of a season makes it pretty hilarious that Habs fans have the gull to get on their soapboxes and make fun of the Leafs misfortunes when they have a equally horrible team.

Take Carey Price out of your line-up, and the Habs instantly turn into the biggest joke in the entire league.

Hypocrisy at it's finest.

Not really. But I just many of the posters dumb here because they feel the Leafs get a lot of coverage and their team doesn't when they don't realize that the Leafs are easily the most polarizing team in the NHL right up there with Vancouver.

No matter what these teams do, they will be criticized, so acting like "you don't care" is a good joke.

But why take Carey Price out the line-up exactly?

Are you serious? How can you even look at the Leafs and say that their season was a trainwreck and not look at the Habs?

They change their head coach and guess what? They had ZERO plans to even go on the lookout for another head coach at the time. Apologizing to the fans for hiring Cunneyworth who isn't French is like a kick in his gut.

Firing an assistant coach the morning of a game? Trading Cammalleri during the middle of the game? That is a bigger trainwreck than anything the Leafs have done this season, it's classless.

Habs gave some of the best entertainment in hockey this year, and I'm very thankful to them. Watching them piss on their new head coach a week later was funny, firing of Perry Pearn without a concrete reason was just delightful, and trading Cammalleri in the middle of a game that capped it off.

Habs were not a trainwreck they were wrecked as bad as the Titanic.

But yet have still won more games than the Leafs since the lock-out.

If you want to bash Burke, please go ahead, there's already half the board bashing him around here, but at least get your facts straight.

He's took the blame. He has recognized he's made mistakes. No one is perfect. He has not thrown his players under the bus at all. When he has failed he has took the blame.

Where did "since the lockout" come into play here? I was talking of the 2011-12 season.

If the Leafs were a trainwreck, the Habs were the Titanic wreck.
