Bit of a homer? Maybe. But Vncouver had been on cruise control since January, they have no depth and the Kings badly outsize them. LA uses their size and strength, combined with the stifling defense, I see no reason why they can't take down VAN. Vancouver is the most overrated team in the playoffs, AFAIC, and LA matches up real well, not to mention have been one of the league's elite teams since the Carter trade. People point at their offense, but since the Carter trade LA was top 5 in the entire league for GF, while still being top 5 in GA. They are damn good team, IMO and had they won the division would be my pick out of the west since their road would be much easier.

Hmmm some interesting a tough matchups this year. If I was to take a stab at it.......I would predict the following.

Canucks v. Kings - Kings in 7. Size depth and quick will keep LA in it
Blues v. Sharks - Sharks in 5 with size, depth and experience
Yotes v. Hawks - Hawks in 6 with overwhelming firepower
Preds v. Detroit - Preds in 6 with a huge upset, solid D and grinding it out

Rangers V. Sens - Rangers in 6 (sorry sens..even though I want you to win)
Bruins V. Caps - Caps in 6...bruins O falls off, Timmy cant get the job done and Ovi comes through
Panters V. Devils - Devils in 4. Kov is just to much for Florida who is coming in ice cold
Pengs V. Flyers - Flyers in 7 ........ will hopefully live up to the hype and be a competitive series.

LA vs Sharks - LA in 6 and will get revenge as karma will get Clowe
Hawks vs Preds - Preds in 5 .. Hawks Goaltending will faulter and the Preds will be too strong defencively for the Hawks to fly away with it

Rangers V. Caps - Rangers in 5..Caps will choke as per usual and the Rangers will physically dominate the Caps.
Devils V. Flyers - Flyers in 7

LA vs Preds - LA in 5 - Preds Off. falls off as Radulov decides to head back to Russia on vacation.

Rangers v. Flyers - Flyers in 6- Torts continues to rally against evil crosby and malkin and loses focus on the series.

LA V. Flyers - Flyers take the cup in 5. Jagr has a huge break out and makes LA's hollywood ending look like the sinking of the titanic

I would not be suprised if the Blues sweep the Sharks. They swept the season series 4-0, two shutouts and outscored them 11 - 3.

I believe it was on the NHL Network last night and they were talking about the Blues outscoring SJ 11-3. They said if you took into account PP goals, empty net goals, etc.. the Blues outscored SJ just 4-3.

Now, of course that's not the be all, end all for this matchup, but it does hold *just a bit* of weight for me given how much things tighten up in the playoffs, both goals and penalties, etc.

That's not to say SJ stands a better chance, i'm just more so than less relaying what the guys on the NHL Network discussed last night.

IMHO: key to Flyers being successful - play the Pens physically, get in their faces, force them to get frustrated and take penalties.

I predict a Flyers upset in this series.

I call the Pens. Will Bryz having the broken foot, just don't think they can do it.

Heh! And just as I say the Flyers should play the Pens physically, the Pens immediately take it to the Flyers off the puck drop.

That's a pretty damn weak goal to let Crosby get.

I love Bryz and his quotes. He should have his own radio or reality TV show.

Can someone explain to me why Jagr has black blade holders? Looks goofy.

...and Pitts scores again. I'm still sticking with my upset call tho.
