This is the CBJ no way they get the number one pick.

They'll get close and then collapse in the last 60 seconds. True CBJ fashion.

Toronto would be okay. Burke would give it to us just to not have to draft a Ruskie!

OK you smarties who tell us who to root for or how so-and-so can make the playoffs or whatever.

What do we look for tonight as the slots start getting called?

That would mean that, according to the trade board, the cost to then add #2 to their stable would only take Nazem Kadri and a 7th-rounder. Maybe Schenn, but Savard and Moore would have to go back the other way.

For the sake of everyone's cardiac health, Winnipeg being called first at 5th overall would mean that they won it and that Columbus retains 1st.

For the sake of my own spiteful hatred, I'd rather suffer a heart attack than see those thieving SOBs get a better spot.

If Toronto is called at 5th, it's possible that anyone on either side of them won the lottery. If Winnipeg is called at 5th, it means they won. If the Islanders are revealed at 5th, it means that either Toronto won (moving them to 1st) or that Anaheim, Minnesota, or Carolina won it (moving them up, but not to 1st).

If Toronto is 5th and the Islanders are 4th, it means that one of Columbus, Edmonton, or Montreal won it and will pick 1st.

If Toronto is 5th and the Islanders are 4th and the Canadiens are 3rd, it means that it's either Edmonton or Columbus picking 1st.

Depends on what we see at #5 (typically the first revealed). If the Leafs show up at #5, then nothing is known for certain until we see everybody else unveiled - Isles, Habs, and Oilers.

If the Islanders show up as #5, then that means one of two things:
1) The Leafs won the lottery and we can all shoot ourselves now, or
2) Someone outside of the top-5 won, and we're good.

If anyone else appears at #5, Nail Yakupov is a Blue Jacket.

What if....

If the CBJ don't win tonight's lottery, which would almost definitely land them Nail, how does this affect the franchise? We've heard the rumors that they may not be interested in Yakupov because of his Russian roots, but he is an obvious and safe number 1. However, if the number 2 pick becomes the BJ's then who's the pick? Are you okay with the worse case scenario?

depends on who wins it, but at #2 if Nail isn't there, its more than likely Forsberg

Haha, very possible... Well at least we would be odds on favorite to land McKinnon.

Couldn't agree more.. if that's a statement and not a question... But if it is a question, then no, nationality wouldn't affect who "I" would personally select.

As a compassionate human being, I hope you guys get Nail. As sick sadistic Preds fan I hope the Buds win so TO will have hope for a month or two then Burke trades the pick and his 2nd for Nash
