Coyotes took their first Division Title. So happy for them. I hope they will keep them in place
If none of the current potential ownership groups are well along in negotiations there is little hope of saving the Yotes. The city isn't going to spend the money any longer and the promises of the money won't even be needed this season, it's just a formality, blah blah blah, are causing a rift between the league and Glendale.
It's a shame ... they put a good product on the ice, the arena is decent, the environment just outside arena doors is great (plenty of food and drink along with a mechanical bull). Moyes poisoned the well and the Goldwater Institute sprayed that poison on the next few suitors.
The DW and I went down to the Bridge today to look at changing our seats for next year, and ended up staying to watch the Hawks-Wings game on the megatron. There couldn't have been 50 people in the arena proper, skating or watching the game, and I'll be damned if there weren't a couple of people who cheered when the Wings scored and then tied it up.*********s.
edmonton building their team the complete opposite of what we have done...
hate that they can stock up in the draft like they have.. what if they suck really bad again next year? (really possible) ... hall, eberle, rnh, yakupov, _______ ? the NHL needs to try to lessen the chance of being able to obtain top 5 picks year after year after year after year after year.....
They should make it something like no team can win the lottery two years in a row. It's just sad that a team can build a team with no effort whatsoever.
The most original idea i saw on the main boards was a system where a team got a point for every consecutive year they missed the playoffs, and they # of points they had factored into the weight of the lottery. Once a team won the lottery, their points reset back to zero. Helps out teams that have sucked for a long time, but prevents the Edmonton syndrome.
Poor Columbus. Can't even win the the draft lottery.
And here I thought the "we've lost everything else" bit was overly cynical.
The funny thing is that I used to like Edmonton. Not anymore. Not after that smirk on Tambellini's face. Relocate 'em to Houston for all I care.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!

I disagree. The effort is sucking so bad year after year that you end up with multiple year picks. How would we react? We didn't always get the best pick but the games were much more interesting.
