Doesn't matter. Carter would have taken his spot anyway. Having Lokti sit in the press box hurts Manchester's chances, but whatever.

Bad break for Brad, but doesn't really impact the Kings.

About the illness.

Could be out day to day or up to 3 weeks.

It's possible Penner gets pulled at some point so this is important.

What's strange is that Hammonds reported that Richardson was practicing (there were 4 people on the 2nd line) on Tues. Is it possible? Perhaps he'll be back sooner rather than later. Get well Richie...

I agree Penner is going to be on a short leash, but it likely just got a bit longer.

I read a quote from Sutter (on twitter, but forget who tweeted it) that Richie hadn't been feeling well for a few days. Last night it got much worse and so he had to have emergency surgery.

I would rather have Penner out there than Richardson. Quit making remarks about how you hoped Penner would sit for Richie. Richardson has been just as big of a disappointment as Penner....except Penner is just a tad bit more useful since he can play the cycle game.

1. Penner is going to go into ballistic global pancake beastmode in the playoffs. You heard it here first

2. Hope Lokti gets in a game or two.

3. Bummed for Richardson as a human being, but not bummed as a fan. Take your time healing.

Does that fact that they needed to recall Loki mean that Carter probably won't play game 1?

No it means we needed WARM BODIES in case ... look at the rosters of the other teams, most called up a handful of players as safety backups, the Kings ONLY had Westgarth, Richardson and Drewiske as scratches whereas most other teams have about 3 or 4 extra forwards and at least 2 extra defencemen since the roster expansion.

Richardson is better overall because he can skate and put some effort when penner can be a ghost, Richardson can't score but he can skate.idk how you think they are.alike

When in the world did I say they're alike? They're the opposite. Penner can cycle with his big body, Richardson turns the puck over and can't play defense, even with that kind of speed. Penner can shoot, when he wants to.

I would have to agree. Richardson brings speed but that's it. He is weak against the boards and makes quite a few defensive brainfarts. Lewis is on that line to bring the speed. Penner brings the big body who can control the puck longer than Richardson. Richie had a good offensive showing last playoffs, but his defense was atrocious.

It's a shame stoll never seems to be in the right spot to support the puck. I wouldn't be surprised if stoll plays 4th line center for a game or two.
