Great to see him finally signed and I'm sure the Rangers will do the right thing getting him acclimated, etc.

With that being said...I cannot wait to see him turn on the jets for the first time.

This is insane...

Everything I've seen from Kreider just screams better at the professional level. He may not have the pure creativity that a guy like Gaudreau has, but I noticed his teammates often fumbling the puck from unexpected or hard Kreider passes. He also generates a lot of offense off the rush, and his defenseman (f'ing Cross) had difficulties playing the puck too. Most of the time he had the puck was in the corners off a dump and chase or a cycle, and while the Rangers due this, there is a lot more neutral zone passing in their game compared to BCs.

I just think we'll all be pleasantly surprised this post-season, Kreider looked very good during the World Championships playing with much crappier line mates and less ice time.

3 years/$3,775,000. $1,258,333. Brooks reported $1.3M.

McKenzie said there was a games played bonus in the playoffs. Kevin Paul Dupont doesn't have a games played bonus in his numbers.

Take away this season

$1,550,000 in salary and maxing out all of the bonuses in years 2 and 3.

Kevin Paul Dupont of the Boston Globe has those salary figures. He has written a few Kreider articles over the years with Matt Keator being quoted in them.

Quote:
Former NHL scout Matt Keator, now a local player agent, figures Kreider is the fastest NHL prospect to come out of New England since David A. Jensen, the local speedster who was chosen 20th overall by the Whalers in the ’83 draft. Keator has been following Kreider’s career for years and figures his blend of athleticism and intelligence makes him a sure-shot first-rounder.

“You look at Blake Wheeler,’’ said Keator, who represents Wheeler, who just wrapped up his rookie season with the Bruins, “and comparing them at the same age, Chris’s game is more defined and has more grit. On skating ability, he could be in the league right now. There’s a lot more to it than that, of course, but this is a kid who will do the work and come along very quickly.’’

What I like about Torts is simply this.

The best line up that he can ice to win games, he will ice.

If he feels that Kreider can provide what Mitchell provides IN ADDITION to offensive instincts and speed, then Mitchell sits and that's all there is to that.

Torts responsibility is not to Mitchell because they got here with him in the line up.

Torts sole responsibility is to putting the Rangers in the best position to win games.

das it.

#rangers Chris Kreider 11-12 600 000 12-13 810 000 + 90 000 SB 13-14 810 000 + 90 000 SB

So Kreider got $180,000 as a signing bonus.

Different numbers from Dupont for the 1st season. $75,000 difference.

Quote:
(b) The aggregate of all Signing Bonuses attributable to any League Year to
be paid to a Group 1 Player may not exceed 10% of the Player's compensation for such
League Year. Games played bonuses attributable to a League Year shall be included in
compensation for that League Year at their full potential value (i.e., assuming all such
bonuses are earned) and shall be treated as Paragraph 1 NHL Salary.
A Group 1 Player
may not contract for or receive any bonuses whatsoever other than a Signing Bonus, a
games played bonus and Exhibit 5 Bonuses.
The $75,000 is the playoff games played bonus? Looks like it. League year runs from July 1-June 30.

i haven't seen the kid play but i've heard a lot about him. i've also heard a lot about other prospects who have not worked out for us... but with all the hype this kid's been getting, some of it has to be true. let's hope he can hit the ground running. i don't see how this option can hurt us-- and in this game, when you have a shot, you have to go all in because you may not get another for a long time. this is what NYR is doing and i like it.

I'm going to take my chances. LOL. I have a Staal and Richards jersey. Stepan or McDonagh were going to be next for me. But I'm going with Kreider in white then McD or Step in the heritage jersey.

Doubt it. Torts separates them to make it a blitzkrieg on the opponent. Speed on top of speed. Constant forecheck, getting in deep and winning the 50/50 battle on a dump in by consecutive lines because they are just too quick. This will back ottawa up more into their own end protecting against the dump in, allowing for more space in the neutral zone to rush the puck into the zone instead.

I still say this organization thinks this kid is ready to play:

Hagelin-Richards-Gaborik
Kreider-Stepan-Callahan
Dubi-Boyle-Anisimov
Fedotenko/Rupp-Mitchell/Rupp-Prust.

Rather have Mitchell sit and go with Rupp as the 4th line C. I don't think that line would have to take many draws in any playoff series.

He is a prime candidate for someone like that. Based on the fact that his game is still developing and he is still growing as a player.

In fact we've seen that as a trend among Ranger picks of the last half decade. It's a big reason why their farm system, while well respected, still doesn't get quite the credit it deserves.

He's a worker and a "sponge" type. I don't see that being a problem.

i would say i wouldn't want to mess with the chemistry going into the playoffs but Kreider can only be an improvement especially over the likes of Mitchell
