It's been funny listening to some of the team1040 guys throw their little hissy fits over this. Why do media guys, especially print media, think the Canucks owe them anything? In case they haven't noticed, the Canucks are quite capable of using new media to direct any info to their fans that they deem pertinent.

Totally aggree. I think the NHL policy is stupid. This all stems from Lungo's comments after game 5 getting taken out of context and blown up. They are not going to allow anything like that happen again.
I believe practiced on the 4th line with Malhotra the other winger and Bitz center. If Daniel is in LaPierre will be moved to center and Bitz scratched. At least that is what I'd expect to happen.
He took part in the full practice today on the 4th line. Looks like he'll be ready to go. Now if Daniel comes back tmr, I guess they'll need to decide between Bitz and Kassian. My vote goes to Kassian if he's fully healthy.
For this team, its all about winning the cup, and if they have to take few fines in order to send a message to the Eastern Media that their BS bias and loaded questions will not be acceptable, so be it.
If it sends a message to the league that we do not accept the decision on the Dunacan Keith suspension and 2 minute minor, even better.
Not sure how it helps? We already have a low standing with the league, the refs, the other, etc. Using smart a$$ tactics doesn't help.

Although I get what you mean, I think this is more of a case, or a demonstration if you will, of who is in charge here. And that is, the Canucks are in charge. They are going conduct this run their way...and the hell with the media and the league.

Awesome, thanks guys. I think he'll be important as the Kings are pretty chippy at times. Good energy guy, too. He could break-out if you are super optimistic.
I think ZK is made for the playoffs, and this is going to be a great opportunity to see how he performs in an intense environment.
I think Bitz goes. The thing is, Bitz has stuck it out for half the year in the minors and has a few more years under his belt. Give him the opportunity in game 1 and see how he responds. You can always say that Kassian is still recovering. If Bitz plays great, perfect. If he doesn't perform, then Kassian goes in and Bitz can be an option if toughness is needed.
Sedins-Burrows
Kes/Booth/Raymond
Pahlson and co
Bitz-Lappy-Malhotra
Also, the option of having a tough forth line is better at home where they can be protected a bit. I think the question right now is either Malhotra or Kassian in Games 1 and 2.

Bitz/Lappy/Kassian is tempting, if Kass is healthy enough to throw his weight around. Kings have some plodding defenders, Mitchell especially. It would be nice to start pounding them like anvils as soon as possible.
Little late to the party, but I agree with everyone saying the Canucks are just pretty much saying "***** you, NHL". I also think it's just to maybe give the Kings some hope that they can steal game 1 with more ease if Daniel isn't in.
Either way, I can't see how Daniel is having ANY setbacks at all, otherwise he would not be skating. After the protocol's the Canucks have taken in such, does the media really think if he had a setback, he'd be skating right away again?
I hope Volpatti doesn't dress in the playoffs. He's a physical hard working player but we have much better options. We all remember how useless Tanner Glass was in last year's playoffs, and Glass is much better than Volpatti.
The best part about that video was the fan on the ice near the end of it.
I love him too! Total RISKY BUSINESS-style kneeslide! I wonder who that fan was, and whatever became of him. Would be an interesting little story to read about in the paper, if any of the sports media around here ever felt like doing some real detective work instead of just boring locker room scrums and spouting off their bull crap opinions. Such lazy lazy people. Phoning it in, constantly.
I am going to go ahead and say that Kassian and Daniel will play game one, resulting in a completely healthy forward group. With Ballard coming along nicely, the injury front is looking nice and lonely.
