so all mighty one... what goalie are they going to get?
and now I can't wait for them to be in chicago style cap hell
going to be great to see
Hey, all they need to be successful is a defence... and a good head coach... and a smart GM... and to stop coming in first/second worst in the entire league...
The West gets tougher , we won't have a very warm welcoming when we eventually do move.
It isn't a lock but I strongly feel this franchise's "type" is a big North American , ideally an WHL or OHL player.
They may have exceptions but I would be very surprised if they use high draft choices that stray far from this blueprint. I don't think he lasts till 9 but Griffin Reinhardt looks like True North's poster boy.
It would be interesting to see how they evaluate Radek Faska , do see envision him as a true first line C with size ? If they do, they will be very very tempted to try to acquire him , at 9 or maybe even moving up a few slots.
Another interesting aspect is the relatively , and in my estimation True North's view , undersized defensemen in the top 12 of this draft. As I have mentioned , every time anyone with the team has any slight prompting , they have let us know this team is going to get bigger. They want size , they will get size. Ideally size paired with talent , so I am unclear on whether some of the smaller highly rated defesemen will be realistic options for the Jets at 9.
I haven't got a gut feeling on Faska as how he does rate for the Jets, but I include him , Reinhardt and Jacob Trouba ( if he is indeed as big as listed in places ) as three that look the part . This organization doesn't appear to be shy to not go for whom they like , even if it may appear to be a bit early. The one thing that seems to be the most of a lock , at least to me , is size... I expect a bigger player at 9.
That actually sorta reminds me of when we picked Scheifele. All my buddies and I had watched the draft while we were pregaming for a social. Everyone was so jacked when Couturier was available and it was just utter shock and anger when we didn't take him. I'm happy we picked Scheifele know but at the time I certainly wasn't.

Minus the cup win.
There's a few places that I'd go knocking, but the unfortunate thing is that outside of Rask in Boston there's not alot of goaltenders out there that people would be willing to part with(could be wrong). There's also Schneider in Vancouver and Bernier in LA, but it's not like you wanna go out of your way to do those teams ANY favors.
I suppose there's also Nabokov that could prolly be coaxed away from the islsnders, but he'd getting old.
I think, overall, their best move would be too try and obtain Bishop from Ottawa. I got high hopes for that kid. I think he could do well being the guy in Edmonton.
why? because they won something that 13 other teams were eligible for? hate the NHL but not the oilers
Uhm I think the joke part may stem from the fact that the Oilers have been amongst the worst teams in the league for 6 years. No one is beaking them for winning the lottery, they're being beaked for being in that position year after year.
Edit: Only five teams were eligible for the 1st overall pick btw.

6 years? the oilers were battling for the playoffs from 2006-2009
and from 2010 on they were in the basement.
and i know 5 teams were eligible for the 1st overall pick, i meant that 14 teams can win the lottery and move up 4 spots, it just happened to be edmonton. it just as easily couldve been wpg that won
What a complete joke of an organization the Oilers are.
With a couple of smart trades/FA signings Edmonton will be in another Cup Finals within 3-5 years and contend long after that just like the Penguins & Blackhawks did. Go ahead and laugh at them when they're adding to their Stanley Cup totals while the "honorable" Jets franchise still can't advance past the first round.

Nope.
