Martin Hanzal

I realize his value goes way beyond his stats with his size, defensive play, and nice contract. Coming from a Sabres point of view I willing to overpay for him and slot him in as the 3rd line center behind Ennis and Hodgson.

What is his overall value and from a Sabres point of view what would they have to add along with Derek Roy to get him? Keep in mind the Sabres have two firsts and two seconds. Would a Roy and a first do it, maybe a little more?

WTF.

Why don't you throw in Tyler Myers and Tyler Ennis just for good measure.

He is so good and so important to the yotes I can't see a situation where him being traded would work out. His value to his current team is just too high.

Due to him being in phx and his poorer statistical showing throughout his career so far, few people get to see him enough to really know about him. But every time the canucks play the yotes he is scary good. he's absolutely huge and impossible to move off the puck. He's got great hands. Can absolutely crunch people when hitting, and he's very good defensively as well as in the face-off circle. If he didn't get that mid-season concussion he probably would've been close to a 50pt player (judging by how well/hot Whitney and Vrbata were - his linemates).

Roy signed for 1 more season then UFA.

Hanzal signed for 5 more seasons before UFA.

Fundamentally that's a non-starter for Phoenix to even discuss a trade with those players as the principle pieces. Adding draft picks isn't going to overcome it.

How about

Hanzal, OEL
for
Yakupov, Lander

Don't know if i'd do it, but it would seem to make a lot of sense to both teams. Lander won't be ready yet, but eventually he could possibly fill Hanzal's role. IMO Yakupov is worth a bit more than OEL, just way too dynamic. If Edmonton needs to add, what would Phx think is fair?

PHX would not trade OEL for Yakupov straight up. They sure as hell would not trade Hanzal for Lander. You can argue all you want PHX values OEL highly.

OEL is seen as a franchise defenseman. A constant Norris contender in the future based on his NHL play. Don't let draft spots fool you.

Hanzal + OEL to Edmonton for Yakupov and a $25M subsidy

And to think that I hadn't seen a Sabres poster make a Roy-for-Hanzal proposal in at least four hours before this proposal was made. Maybe we can go five hours today? Baby steps.

So that is your thing now? You criticize every post that has a player or two that was in another post. I am on these boards a lot and I don't recall the last time I saw a Roy for Hanzal proposal. What I have noticed is you do this all the time.

Personally I think you are a great poster and you know your **** better than most, but this is a fantasy hockey trade board. If you hadn't noticed, 99.9% of these trades never happen. The last thing anyone needs is the trade rumor police patrolling the trade rumors board and telling people what they should post and how stupid they are for posting the wrong thing. Get a life dude.

I agree, and I like Roy more than most.

I don't live on HF but I don't recall any proposals for Hanzal. From any team.

There are plenty but none that any Coyotes fan has ever thought much of.
