Ya.... No.

Try PRV, Gagner, 1st 2013.

At that point, is it really worth it?

That's a good trade for Dave Tallon...

If he wants to get fired.

Awful

This is akin to Florida asking if Edmonton would trade their 2012 1st for Shawn Matthias and Marcel Goc

So what would need to be added from Edmonton's side? Would this work better?

To Edm:
Gudbranson

To FLA:
Gagner
Omark
2013 1st

It's not fair for Florida but it's not as dumb as 2012 1st for Shawn Matthias and Marcel Goc like someone said

Well I guess it doesn't really matter what they give up as long as it is not Eb, Hall, RNH or this year's first. But Gudbranson is the exact type of player the Oilers need to acquire. A top 4 young dman with potential to be a top 2 dman.

So what from Edmonton would be more realistic to go to Florida to get it done? Would Hemsky plus draw any interest?

You 'realistically' would need to give up an asset you don't want to give up.

Why on earth would Garrison sign in Edmonton?

And those proposals are awful, to say the least.

While the OP was bad you're suggesting something worse. The only assets Edmonton would be unwilling to package include Hall, Eberle, RNH and the 2012 1st and Gudbranson isn't worth any of those straight up.

disagree, we have been waiting for a powerful big hitting defenseman for our top pairing for over a decade. Gudbranson has gotten consistently better as the year has gone on and looks to project to be just that someday with kulikov. We wont be looking to make any sort of movement of him without a massive overpayment and I dont see us looking for more picks either or quantity (just quality or a package of him and another piece for offensive talent). Unless we are getting a big upgrade somewhere there is no need to move a piece we have been looking to add for that long.

I dont see us interested in moving him at all. No offense to the opening poster or anyone else it just doesnt make sense for Tallon's rebuild. He was a big piece he was craving and appears to have scored on in the draft.

Ha, no.

We'll gladly keep Gudbranson and you can keep those average players.

Gudbranson went 3rd overall and might be as good as any Dman this draft.
Why ask for a player like that? No one makes proposals for Hall or Eberle here.

Are you even reading any of the threads here? Every single one that involves Edm turns into a *****fest of how X teams players are worth Hall eberle or RNH.

The MPS/ Gagner offer for Gudbranson would be a good one if your GM didn;t sell the farm for a sweep in the playoffs with overprice forwards.

This. There isn't a crazy enough GM in the league to offer the amount that it would take to lure Guds away from DT.

Playoffs is still better than no playoffs, especially after 12 years.

DT sold the farm? Booth, Olesz and a bunch of picks were traded.

Here's the concept that very few people here don't grasp :

If you want to get a piece the other team wouldn't want to lose, expect to give up a piece you wouldn't want to part with.

Did you even look at the trades he made this year? From the Tallon Trades thread on the panthers board

http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh...ghlight=tallon

NY Rangers Florida Panthers
D Mike Vernace LW/RW Wojtek Wolski
3rd round pick in 2013 (FL) OOOOOH a 3rd those are always a guarantee to stick in the NHL

Nashville Predators Florida Panthers
6th round pick in 2012 (DAL) C Jerrod Smithson A sixth rounder my god the Tallon is gutting our future.

San Jose Sharks Florida Panthers
C Tim Kennedy D Sean Sullivan Uhh who?

Carolina Hurricanes Florida Panthers
LW Evgeni Dadonov C Jonathan Matsumoto great trade of an under achiever for a guy who has helped our AHL team
LW/C A.J. Jenks LW Matthias Lindstrom Meh

Dallas Stars Florida Panthers
LW/C Angelo Esposito LW/C Ondrej Roman Meh

Dallas Stars Florida Panthers
LW Jake Hauswirth LW/RW Krys Barch Jake who? Probably one of the better pick ups this year Barch has been great as a tough guy.
5th round pick in 2012 (FL) 6th round pick in 2012 (DAL) = traded later

Tampa Bay Lightning Florida Panthers
D Mike Kostka C James Wright uh no big loss here
D Evan Oberg D Mike Vernace

Vancouver Canucks Florida Panthers only trade that may long term suck if Booth gets back to form but has been a wash this year
LW David Booth RW Mikael Samuelsson
C Steven Reinprecht LW Marco Sturm
3rd round pick in 2013 (VAN)

Tell me where any of our farm was sold? The trade is not just awful but god awful.

A third line center and a guy who couldn't even earn a spot on the second worst team in the NHL. For a big strong at worst second pairing d-man who has a mean streak, a bomb from the point, and got better all year in his first year in the NHL. No thanks.
