Mike Cammalleri (and throw-ins) : Rene Bourque, Patrick Holland and a 2nd.

#13 game-worn jersey : $ 1,250.

Pierre Gauthier fired : priceless.

Seems fishy. You're saying that in 3 years, Cammalleri didn't have a jersey lying around his house? He's worn dozens, I strongly doubt that management took all of his jerseys and forced him to pay or give them back.

That's like the saddest thing I've ever heard.

He should have just refused to remove the jersey he was wearing, though. I don't think Gauthier has the strength to forcibly undress a guy like Cammalleri.

I'm not PG apologist, but having the players buy their own game used jersey not a PG decision. I would be akin to me being layed off at my job, and saying "Hey boss-man, I really have a fond attachment to my monitor, mind if I take it?" Because of "rules" put in place, out of my managers control, he'd say "Piss off, buy it and it's yours."
While I understand where you're going with the business analogy, also realize that people with $6 million dollar salaries in the business world often get substantial "parting gifts" as thanks for their service. I'm sure Cammy (like everyone else) probably bought a bunch of his jerseys as gifts for friends/family during his time in Montreal, and that's fine - "employee discounts" are a standard business practice. Sounds like he never asked for one for himself before, and when he did he was surprised to be denied... and I don't blame him, honestly. I mean, he was a pretty prominent player while he was with us.

Hockey teams, while ultimately businesses, pride themselves on establishing a sense of family/belonging - from the top to bottom of an organization - as chemistry is deemed a crucial ingredient to success. I'm not sure that I've ever heard of something like this before, and I've never heard of a player not having one of their own game-worn jerseys (or at least the ones they felt like "collecting"). Admittedly, I guess I've just always assumed that those who wanted one could just have one. Maybe players have actually been buying their own jerseys for a while now, I have no clue. Just seems odd that they would draw the line at a jersey, when these guys have free reign to bust up a few $300 sticks per game/practice on the company dollar, for example.

It shouldn't matter, weren't you ever taught as a child to be the bigger man?

He was the best forward in 3 PO series, dude.

That's how much he dissed the team.

I don't believe the story anyway.

Its too cheap to be possible.

if you get fired from a job, why should you keep the laptop or the office chair?

Glad he's gone. I'm not concerned. I feel better in the middle of a GM search than with him here.

Basically the equivalent of you being a CEO of a major company and asking to keep your plaque as souvenir.

Don't the proceeds for such sales go to charity? Essentially, Cammalleri is refusing to give money to charity. Yeah, the Habs and Gauthier are the jerks here.

3 of his jerseys from this year are still available, go ahead and buy them if you care so much.

Every player that leaves this team has to cry about something, just shut up and move on already.
I agree that the whining from ex players is getting a little over annoying. But I don't think Cammy is whining about anything here. He said ''Can't confirm or deny it''. In other words ''no comment''. It's the reporter that is saying it.
It's definitely weak and stupid from Gauthier in any event.

Cammy never whined about things here. I don't understand the hate this guy receives at times.

Maybe he should have scored a few more goals this year and he would still be wearing the jersey.

Seriously... who cares? Probably untrue or there are details we are not aware of. People crapping on Gauthier now that he's gone are quite pathetic...

Let's move on with this useless gossip, alright?

Ya, we got rid of his 9goals in 38gp, in order to get a guy that brought us 5 in 38. Definitely better.
His 16G 29Pts in 26 PO games couldn't really get him a pass.

The new GM should mail Cammy a Habs jersey ! Maybe trade him back too. He'd be awsome with a playmaker the quality of Grigorenko.

Anyone here defending PG is really pissing me off. Of course you should give the guy his jersey if he wanted it, it's called a 'classy move' especially after one of the unclassiest moves the team has made in years.

Jesus, the guy was traded during a game, throw him a bone. **** I can't believe anyone is defending PG at this point.
