Newman was such a frustrating player, so inconsistent. When he's on his game he can look like a top shutdown corner but then at least once a game he's good for a brainfart that results in a big play.

Lions might be interested if they lose Eric Wright, who apparently is getting a strong push from San Francisco.

Unless they feel confident they can land a top corner in the draft
