I agree. As you can probably tell, this is the first poll I've created. I'm trying to edit it, but it doesn't seem to allow for that. Can a mod change this to a multiple choice poll?
I don't think they tender Persson and Schiestel. Biega is a bit of a coin-flip. Granted, that may also be contingent on if they don't deal Brennan off as part of a summer package -- kid's got a cannon and has been playing passible bottom pairing minutes during his recalls.

I think Persson and Schiestel are gone. They've stated that if they loan a player, his days are probably numbered in the organization because of the awkardness of bringing him back. I think it's silly that they did that to Schiestel, especially considering he was coming off a major knee injury and they gave guys like Grags (four years in AHL) and Weber (three full seasons in AHL) plenty of time to develop. I don't think there would've been any harm in bringing him back for one more season. Anyways, I digress.
I expect them to tender all but Persson and Schiestel. Ennis and Kaleta won't take their QOs, but will sign deals in time.
1. Ennis (no explanation req'd)
2. Brennan (best d-man of the bunch, potential call-up & trade piece if cheap)
3. Kaleta (would be really tempted not to make Q.O.)
4. Chewy (meh, depth centre)
5. Scheistel (already loaned to Texas, not comin' back)
6. Biega (See ya Alex!!!)
7.
8.
9.
10.
11. Persson (Enjoy Sweden Dennis)
Kaleta....nope, his defensive game has been much better but his antics outweigh the contributions of the defensive games. I'd rather give his spot to a real bruiser. Obviously, Kaleta doesn't add much offensively so who cares. Refs are out to get him. Injuries have taken a toll too...

My thoughts exactly without having to do any work.
Add in an outside possibility of DMac getting signed.
Now, let's say one of the top two ends up full time with the Sabres. Maybe they sign a vet for the D-corps to fill Morrisonn's role. And they use the ECHL for another guy or even two.
Where does this leave room for Biega/Schiestel/Persson? At the max they can really only afford to keep 1. Schiestel was loaned outside the org, he's not coming back. Persson it's time to cut the losses. So do they keep Biega?

Biega is a coin flip. I don't think he has very much NHL potential especially given the logjam. As much as I like him, I think the Sabres view Fienhage as an ECHL regular and AHL callup. He won't prominently figure into Rochester's decisions on D. I know this will cause an uproar, but I don't see room for a vet D in Rochester next year, but I felt the same way last offseason and along came Morrisonn.

Biega wears an A for them, right? It's going to be another young D group in Rochester next year, I'd like some continuity with a couple older players in that group.
Qualify everyone but Schiestel and Persson. If you can move their rights to someone at the draft, please do so.

Technically he rotates with Morrisonn. Whitmore is the only set A. Biega was also a healthy scratch for a few games.
why is everyone ready to throw schiestel out the window? The guy was on the cusp (ahl all star), before a major knee injury.... i definitely want to see him get 1 more year to see if he has recovered fully and can return to where he was (knocking on the door of an NHL job).

3rd pro year, 8th defenseman. They could have loaned out someone else, or not loaned him out at all, but they did. I know Devine said they're not done with him but, to me actions speak louder than words.
Besides, Paetsch was an AHL Allstar. It's a nice honor, but it's not a lot to hang your hat on when you have an organization that's deep in defensemen like this one is.
I've seen Biega play live a couple of times and I really like what he brings to the table at both ends of the ice, but I have no idea where he would fit into the lineup anytime in the near future.
