I'm actually going to be in Vegas all next weekend for my brother's 21st so I'm going to shave the morning of Thursday and let it grow from there. I had actually been growing a beard for a couple of months but I shaved it into a hideous goatee for my sister's college film project. Either way, win or lose, I probably won't shave it to June, when I make my annual hippy trip to Bonnaroo, lol.

IMO the playoff beard concept goes a little overboard when the entire team and its entire fanbase does it. Especially your Grandma Debra and Auntie Suzie, just sayin'

This will be my first time attempting the playoff beard..Shaving everything Wednesday night..have had a goatee for the last 15 years and the wife has never seen me without one..little worried!

Question..I'm a constant goatee trimmer cause everythings get really scraggly when it along with the rest of my beard and stuff grows in and it's really itchy, looks like crap and is a pain in the balls..is it ok to shave under the neck and trim at all during the playoffs? Ya know, like general maintenance and stuff? Or does that defeat the purpose of the playoff beard?

Not that there are any official rules out there or anything, but I've always been of the belief that shaving the neck is more than fair, but trimming should generally be avoided. Trimming every day would defeat the purpose, but if at some point something really just isn't working touching it up is okay. It'll get itchy for a while, but once you push past that it's fine.

Cool. I'll probably let everything grown in to all one length before I shave the neck..and I'll try to avoid the trimming until the stache starts going over my upper lip..that's gonna be the most annoying part!

The Islanders started it, but it didn't become a tradition until the Devils in '95.

I already have a beard, but no trimming/shaving until the end.

It would be tough if the rangers got to the finals because it would take place the same time as bonnaroo. I remember last year people scrambling around there trying to find out what was going on with Boston/Vancouver. As much as I want to see the Rangers go all the way it would honestly suck to have to be at bonnaroo while the rangers are in the finals

I've got a little Sidney Crosby going on. If only my facial hair grew as good as my pubes... I'd be Paul Mara 2.0 within a week or two.

So who on the Rangers is actually growing a playoff beard?

Kinda hard to tell, but most of the players seem to be shaving as normal. Only exceptions I've noticed: Torts, Girardi, Richards, Rupp, Gabby.

Ok..I need HELP!!

I currently work as an intern at Sirius in the Comedy Department. But I have an interview in a different department (the one I really want to get into) tomorrow for another internship in the summer. My playoff beard has been moving along nicely this past week, but now I have a dilemma. Yes, I work there and we can dress however I want and there have been days I walk in there looking scraggly, but don't I need to make a good 1st impression? Do I perform neck maintenance tonight and see how that looks, do nothing and hope the guy thinks I'm just comfortable cause I've been there since January, or do I just say screw it, shave back to my goatee and start over??
