The reason why the Ottawa match up is scary for Rangers fans is because the Sens are very streaky. When the are "on" they are fantastic but when they are off...yikes.

If the Sens come out and lay an egg tomorrow chances are the series is in the bag for the Rangers.

Got to win it ONE SHIFT AT A TIME. It's Torts mantra and this is where it really has to kick in for a few months...

one shift ---

one period ---

one game ---

one series --

Stay healthy, stay smart and make less mistakes than the other team.

Think the Alfie one was more of a joke, and I think the anthem one was by a Rangers fan no? :p Looking forward to a good series though, Thursday is taking too long

That was me, Ranger fan through and through. If there are a few morons booing, you won't even be able to tell. If you can hear the boos over the cheers, that would mean it's a heck of a lot more than a few.

Drown the Canadian anthem out with cheers...just like we will for the American anthem.

When I was little, for fun I used to scream in my brother's ear during the anthem...and he wouldn't hear me. That's how loud it was.

I'm not the biggest fan of these lines as giving a kid second line duties in the playoffs is rough. On the other hand, there's no where else to put him as the other three lines are so awesome.

My son just did an event for the NHL in Times Square, they had 16 mites kids wear playoff teams jerseys around this big stanley cup replica. I sent my son there wearing his callahan jersey, hoping they'd give him the Rangers or at least a west coast team jersey. Of course, they gave him a *&#$&^ing Sens jersey. That thing will have karlssons's name taped to the back, and a bunch of voodoo pins stuck through it tomorrow.

I actually do like the jersey, but if the Rangers lose, that jersey is banned in my house

Nicely played. I hope the Rangers don't backcheck that well. Enjoy the series.

Have you guys wondered the Rangers regulation record (no OT) vs. playoff teams?

Overpass was kind enough to compile a list:

What does everybody think would be the easiest path to the cup for the Rangers. Personally, I'm hoping for the Caps in the second round and Philly in the Third.

Caps beat the Bruins, Panthers beat the Devils.

We beat the Caps and the Panthers beat the Flyers.

We beat the Panthers.

And no, you can not get the phone number to my dealer.

Anything involving the Bruins, Pens, and Flyers not making the ECF.

Should the Rangers find themselves there of course.
I agree with a lot of the points, but the fact is the SENATORS won three of the games. In the post season it doesn't matter who dominated, who struggled, etc. The only thing that matters is the final score at the end of 60. And thus far, the Senators have been better at that against us this season.
Do you use the same rational if someone is injured?

They may have been better but they also haven't faced our best either....

Only reason I'm hesitant to root for the Panthers in Round 1 is because I think they will get steamrolled by whoever they faced in Round 2

This is where you hope the Flyers and Penguins annihilate one another, with the Flyers somewhat standing tall after all is said and done.

Gives Panthers a fighting chance...like a snowflake in hell.

Playing New Jersey next. Despite holding all the records, Brodeur has had no playoff success whatsoever for half a decade. And you can make the argument BRODEUR has been one of the main reasons for their lack of success.

His place in the hall of fame is guaranteed. His place as a goaltender to worry about in the playoffs disappeared years ago.

Hey guys, I was just wondering what you guys think the lineups will look like. I'm finishing up the GDT for tomorrows game, and need some help. I looked around and didn't see any thread so thought I'd post here.

Good luck in the series guys. I just want it to be exciting.
