You wouldn't take a shot on Roy in the late rounds? I absolutely would.

Has Washington not had enough Cherry Picking wingers who don't give a **** about crossing their own blueline in recent memory?

I'd rather have Tanner Pearson.

You can coach someone to do that. You can not coach the scoring touch that kid has.

You also can't coach a kid's work ethic.

Debatable. I think most would agree for example that Semin's work ethic has improved during his time in DC.

Well, outside of Rod Stewart and Rachel Hunter's kid, I now have a list of additional players I'm hoping the Caps pick at least one of in the late rounds.

I agree with both points. One thing is too coach something, and another is too motivate for something. Work ethic can't be "coached", but he looks motivated.

If the Cap's 2nd pick is at 16 it might be indicative that Vasilevski could be a reasonably good pick.

I guess if he's BPA

I prefer seeing teams using mid round picks on goalies though

Why the hell would we take Vasilevski.

No.

Because cool names win championships. It's why I'm hoping Griffin Reinhart will fall .

Taking Goalies in the 1st...... no thanks. There are plenty good ones available later.

Maybe so. And I'm generally against taking goalies in the first, but if they think he's the best prospect available, they should take him.

Your speaking in absolutes about this draft has been pretty ridiculous thus far.

Vasilevski is already better than Neuvirth.

Agreed taking a goalie in the first probably isn't anyones first choice. But if the Caps think there getting solid value at that spot it's fine by me

Tim Bozon would be a nice second round target imo

Pretty much guaranteed to hit their ceiling by age 23, like your boy, Noovy.

16 should still allow for one of Girgensons, Maatta or Collberg to be available. I'd lean towards one of them over a goaltender, particularly the C/D. Either that or possibly move down to the early 20's if they're interested in one of the power wingers (Matteau, Wilson, Sissons, Samuelsson).

16 is probably right around where Vasilevski & Subban should start to warrant consideration, though.

One possibility that I really like is Curtis Glencross if the Flames finally decide to go into full rebuild mode he'd be a great target. Tough fairly physical has a good scoring touch and shows up every night.

Something like the Caps first and another smaller piece would be a nice deal in my eyes
I've said it once, I've said it 1000 times. Joe Pavelski. Sharks have a lot of centers, and have a lot of salary tied up at C. If they crash and burn (again), they may need retooling, as they are aging.

We would need to trade salary back, and possibly Majo too. But I really like Pavelski's game, he'd be an ideal 2C for this team, and a C for Ovechkin or Semin...were we to re-sign Sasha.

What did he call me out on?

We wouldn't because we don't need a goalie, and there will be plenty of good Dmen available.
