Actually, no it doesn't. It's tired, and beat to death 20 times over.
First off a captain doesn't have to have the most amount of points on a team. It's their leadership skills/people skills that are more important. Can they engage their team, and motivate them? Great, as that's what they are supposed to do.
Second, as much as he's overpaid, Horcoff played the hardest minutes on the team hands down. He had the hardest zone starts, and the hardest competition to try and shut down. Yeah the +/- is going to suffer in that situation. Does that mean if we had a way to get rid of his contract that i would say no? Absolutely not...get rid of that albatross if you can. I'd be much happier if he was making 2.5 million a year as a third line C.
Thirdly, did i mention that this thread contributes as much to the forum as a boil on my ass? It's been done endless times and debated very thoroughly. I'm pretty damn sure there's another captaincy thread atrophying around here somewhere.
