I agree. After watching the replay its suspension worthy. I wouldn't be surprised to see him sit a game. Not a smart move on Weber's part.

Since Bertuzzi is still playing, unless you paralyze someone then you shouldn't be suspended. Bertuzzi shouldn't be allowed to play

If he just punched him in the face(which wouldn't have hurt any more), we wouldn't be discussing any suspension. NBCS is sensationalizing a roughing penalty, but who know with Shanny. He better realize he'd be upsetting the competitive balance of a playoff game over a roughing call. Zetty will get up, brush himself off, and get ready for the next game. If JR would just shut up, it would blow over(except on the whines board).

A few positives going for Weber
-Z's hand was in front of his face, so his head didn't actually make contact with the glass
-There wasn't a lot of space to build up speed
-Z seems to be uninjured

Of course there are factors going against him
-Repeat offender
-Late in the game
-Head shots are a hot topic

Weber will get a game at least. Pretty stupid. The punch is one thing. Emotion takes over. It happens in hockey. You can't grab someone's head like that, and throw it into the glass. Unacceptable, Shea.

Woot. woot. Preds win with not their best form. Waaaay too many penalties called both ways. Preds also need lots more discipline...geez.

Great goaltending, good action.

I still believe the Pred can and will wear them down over a series.

He was fined 2,500$ and Shanny was wishy-washy about it. He said it was illegal, but he also noted that Shea went for the right side of Hannsen's body and wasn't really trying to injure. His thoughts were that Shea hit "with too much force" and should have taken it easier on Hannsen.

Off to a good start, Preds are my team in the West.

I'm hoping Weber just gets fined, but wouldn't shock me to see him get a game.

Sorry. Weber goes beast mode in the playoffs...**** happens. Red Wings are ****ing whiners. We finally get a game against them called both ways so you know that means we lose Shea now.

A few thoughts on the game.

- Klein and Josi were great tonight.

- Pekka was even better.

- I love you Bourque.

Weber will get a game. This incident probably cost us home ice.

Interesting that the replay clearly shows Z boarding Weber just before the punch and "head slam". Weber was in the corner with his head down and Z took a run at him. Now that I've gotten a better chance at this...I'd make it a fine and no suspension.

Clearly Weber was pissed, but Z was making a run in the dying seconds of a game when the game was all but won. Z went in with the intent to hurt Weber and Weber retaliated with some hurting of his own.

In a physical game of this magnitude, tempers will flare. I'd drop a $10,000 fine on Weber and say "You do anything out of line again and it'll be a suspension"

In other words ... a repeat offender. You don't get fined a second time in a season. If there is supplemental discipline for this act of utter stupidity, Weber gets suspended.

that play was egregious enough that I'd say a suspension is almost guaranteed. We will see though. Either way it was a completely idiotic thing to do and any attempt to justify it is blind homerism. If the same thing happened to one of your guys you'd be foaming at the mouth.

Are you kidding me? You call that boarding? Wow, just... Wow! I'm not trying to start any trouble on your board, but stop being such a homer and looking for justification of what Weber did. At least, there are some fans on here who are level-headed enough to realize what their captain did was wrong.

Here's a better angle:

Yeah... totally legit hockey play.

On the better camera angle it looks like Weber has his shoulder rather than his head on the second part of the hit... am I wrong? Live, it looked like head. Big difference IMO, especially since the first part was the result of Z ducking to make the contact lower. Probably have my homer glasses on but I've watched it several more times.

It'll be a fine. Highly doubt he gets benched.

Zac Rinaldo this year, Curtis Glencross last year

Getting fined twice in 1 season has happened before. There is no rule that you speak of.

I think a suspension is coming and deserved, however if you think I'm trying to justify anything not sure where you got that impression.
