What a game this kid played!!! He really was into it!! Banging bodies left and right. Sean on Malkin was impressive also. You just know the pens are in shock. To lose this game after being up big is a big time blow to their egos. Well done guys. Now lets go for two!!!
From toon town, was nervous at the start. Played well, 4 hits. We are back, assist on briers goal, another assist, Brayden schenn ties it up, off a deflection on harts shot. We going to OT. Voracek buries the biscuit. Flyers win. Ok controversy on pens 3rd, linesman, even things up, briere scores off side. Lucky for him karma did not affect time outcome.
Props to Carle on the OT winner too... he seems to have a history of setting those up. Back in 2010 he set up Gags vs. Boston and G vs. Chicago. He gets plenty of heat on the board but comes through on O sometimes and played a solid game today.
When asked about the Briere offsides, Bylsma was very level-headed about it, IMO. Basically said "Over the course of the game, that happens. A lot of close calls that can go either way. I think the linesman wishes that call was a bit closer, but that isn't the reason we lost."
(paraphrase, but fairly close).
I like that. He would have been within his rights to throw a fit over it, but then we would have thrown a fit about his fit because of the missed icing.

Also, good game by Bryz. I didn't feel any were bad goals. Earlier in the year he woulda let in 2+ more goals after the start.
I actually thought "That's a goal in December" a few times. It's really satisfying to see how much he's turned it around; I can't state that enough.

Every time I thought Carle was in his usual playoff-choke mode, he'd do something to make me think twice. Every time I thought Coburn was in Anger-Mode, he did something to make me think twice.
I was really impressed with Lavi getting G on with Read and Jake at the end. The pens made it their priority to contain G. Which they did till the end when it mattered most!!. Staal and Letang were to busy watching G and Jake backdoored them. Sweet.
One thing I will not do, and that is to go over to the pens board and suck up to themThey are the enemy. Maybe when the series is over there will be time for some banter. But not yet.

That's the funny thing... with all the talk about the pens and their depth... no way can they match ours, you lock down 1 or 2 lines and the other 2 lines are all over you.
