If we experience a disaster in playoffs...

Schneider + Kesler + Raymond for CBJ 1st(Yakupov) + Johansen
pick/prospect/minor pieces can be added to balance the deal

You would trade Kesler if the Playoffs are disaster?

You wouldn't entertain offers for the Twins over Kesler?

Personally I would think Kesler's age would allow a smoother trasnition to youth over keeping Hank and Dan. Even though they represent some very well developed home grown talent, they could acquire better depth than giving our true playoff warrior.

Trading Sedins would mean full rebuild whereas trading Kesler would be retooling. Sedins have full NTC and good luck getting fair offer for two Art Ross winners in a package deal. Kesler's NTC kicks in the start of next season. Anyways, this ship has sailed with Oilers landing the first overall.

With Hodgson being traded I can't see the Canucks trading Kesler. I don't think Kesler will have a long career in his 30's. He's gonna break down.

But with Columbus not picking first does it make it easier for them to trade that pick for Schneider? I'd love to get Murray or Grigs

We need a major shakeup in the offseason if we're out in the first IMO.

Upgrade top 4 D, we've been lacking a #1 Dman for our entire franchise's history.

Need a gamechanging forward who can pick corners.

Ultimately the cores performance the past three years (four if you count this year) definitely warrants some criticism. The team has usually collapsed in humiliating fashion to close out their seasons, while doing so in similar fashion. Yes, some of that has to do with the coaching, but you usually have to look to the players, especially leaders to avert disaster. Instead, we see our core players selfishly take penalties at the worst of times, and even settle personal vendettas during pivotal periods/moments.

This team needs to get younger, and bring in players that are mentally and physically capable of handling the long grind of the post-season. Perhaps look at trading a core player or two for younger, and skilled blood.

I like the idea of targeting jvr. But I don't see the Flyer's giving him up for a goalie as the centre piece.

Why would they... when Holmgren just signed Bryz to that massive deal. That would be admitting a huge mistake. I'd rather trade Kesler and Schneider to the Columbis for 2nd overall, Ryan Johansen and Jon Moore.

Zetterberg is regressing and will keep regressing. His back is extremely wonky and his shot gets less and less powerful every year. He's still a good player but if we're trading Kesler because he has been injured a few times and might not be the same player, then acquiring an older player in the same exact situation is probably not the smartest move.

I think we could do better than JVR for Schneider. I don't really like his game but that's just my opinion based on watching the flyers a dozen games or so each year.

I hOnestly can't say I've much of him this year since he's been injurEd a couple times this season.

Though he is a very talented power forward. His style matches Kesler n Booth, I just think that 3 shooting forwards together may not be the best idea

People keep on mentioning a play making winger for Kesler and Booth. Could I get a list that possibly be available?

Blake Wheeler would be a great fit I think.

Ted Purcell, but doubt he's available unless one of our goalies is going the other way.

Don't think Purcell would be available considering his chemistry with Stamkos

I'd love to have him on the Canucks though

Isnt Wheeler up for a new contract as well?
Be an interesting choice to fill out the Amex line. Move Higgins to a depth role, since he was our best depth player all season.
Plus Higs n Hansen had chemistry which I've never seen as Hansen never had chemistry with anyone before.

Wheeler had several hot/cold streaks this season, but he does carry some intrigue as he largely produced 5on5, with only 15 of his 64 points coming on the PP.

Would be curious to know what Winnipeg was asking for him.

With Booth in the #2 LW spot it's doubtful another one is brought into the Top 6 but I think Kesler would improve tremendously with that spot being filled by a veteran playmaker. Said it in another thread, Tanguay or Whitney both interest me. Leaves the RW spot to be filled by Higgins/Kassian/FA. I'd be fine with a playmaking RW too it just doesn't seem like there are as many out there that may be available (Wheeler??)

Zetterberg is a career playoff performer, Kesler has shown up for 1 or 2 series. If the Canucks truly only care about the post season, I think it's an option.

Wizard sounds like a great idea. But would only be a band aid fix, at the very least Wheeler has age going for him.

Jets needs are actual Top4 dmen and high end scorers.
Our best trading chip we had that the Jets would have real interest in plays for a different team now

Edler Ballard 2012 1st for Weber on draft day.
Suter would have told the Preds he's going to test the market.

Sign Weber 6years 6.5 million per

Trade Raymond's rights and Isles 4th round pick for Garrison's rights.
Sign Garrison 6 years 5 million per

Completely revamp our D core while adding two offensive weapons from the back end with huge bombs.
PP would be as reliant on our forwards to score every PP goal.

Both are two way guys but are known for their defensive games n physicality.
