Oh for ffffffff... sake! Like someone already wrote, once again it wasn't actually a huge hit itself that injured him, but Sami twisted his ankle when he fell on the ice. There were couple of guys hunting him down, when Sami's team was winning the quarterfinal-series. They got what they wanted (first a high stick in the face - ok, more of an accident, but still, and then this). Not cool.

And btw, the head coach for Finnish national team told in the news that Vatanen was pretty much already given a spot in the team with a big role in mind. And in the last year's world champion team too, had he not injured.

What a year for the Ducks.

1. Sami fractures his ankle.
2. Ducks probably will lose Schultz.
3. We miss out on a top 4 pick because of one point in the standings. Thank you Getzlaf for the overtime goal against Edmonton and the crazy formula that put us behind Toronto in the drat pick tie breaker.

Someone once said "Simle things could get worse, so he smiled and things got worse."

That sums it up. Next year look like it will be worse.

Vatanen's team is one win away from reaching the finals. His team leads the series 3-0 against Jokerit, the team the Ducks played against in Finland.

Vatanen's team goes to the finals after beating Jokerit (the team Ducks played against in Helsinki) 4-1 in the second round of playoffs.

Any chance Sami makes it back for the last few games?

Negative.... McKinnon is available next draft and will be the next Crosby. We already missed out
On one...we won't miss out on the other.

Vatanen's team won the Finnish championship with 4-1 wins. Cup winning goal was scored by Stanley Cup winner Eric Perrin.

Is that really the defenseman award? I'm trying to decide if it looks more like a 3rd grader's art project or is the result of a Canadian Pompeii.

But awesome for Vatanen.

The award is made out of sugar. It's a candy.

And Sami ate both trophies. Wasn't sure which one was made out of sugar - these days you'll never know. Once again us Finns are ahead of everyone else, this way you're not only getting an award but also a snack. Beat that, yous Americans.

Yeah, we are always looking up to our friends in America. Nokia is going to start making drivable phones so we can just sit and get fat by eating awards made out of sugar and fat.

Well, you are still learning, though. That award would have to be deep-fried for maximum effect.
