Well Daniel is hurt. Henrik had a very obviously terrible dive in the 3rd
Doughty and Kopitar will take **** from fans until they start playing like Richards. Doughty and Kopitar are supposed to be the top two skaters and they didn't show it tonight.

Doughty and Kopitar were fine for a regular seaso game, but they passed up a lot of shots tonight. Doughty still struggles in the offensive zone. Kopitar needs to shoot on the pp.

Huge win for the Kings, but there is room for improvement. Something that makes me feel a little better, kings played okay and still won on the road. Luongo was the best Canuck and their fans will still want to see Schneider.

Sutter should have the boys ready for an even bigger game 2. No time to relax.

I was so happy when the Flyers came back and won that game in OT.

I thought he played better and better as the game went on. He was very creative on the point today and wasn't forcing anything. His plays led to many good scoring chances.

Doughty did look slow as molasses... maybe it was all the ice time he had?

Just thought that was interesting...considering he's no fan of the Kings.
To be fair, what does Bouderau know about preparing for teams??

(besides a hearty pre-game meal)

Don't think it has been mentioned, but the kings were nearly perfect after Penner's goal. Those final three minutes were almost stress free.

I was still pacing until Brown scored, but the kings looked good.

I liked the way Doughty carried the puck tonight, how he skated it into the zone as well as any King and the way he then operated in the forward zone.

The Kings under Sutter are a much better puck possession team and Doughty's play tonight helped make the Sutter plan work. Simple as that. Good game DD.

Agreed completely. He was creating alot of different looks from the blueline, it was keeping the wingers of the Canucks guessing...I think that that is an underrated part of his game, while he maybe did not directly lead to anything, he was keeping teams guessing and making the defense hesitate to commit. This is huge, IMO. DD will be a key part of this series, IMO, no doubt. I know us as Kings fans see all his flaws, but he makes alot of key plays.

Kinda the same with Kopitar. I have seen a some posts criticizing Kopi, but I thought he was unreal tonight. I know Richards ended up with the stats, but Kopi was using his size and skating very very effectively tonight to back off the Canucks blueline, his line was wearing people down. The Brown-Kopitar-Williams line was by far the Kings best, IMO, getting the cycle game going, attacking the next, using speed off the rush, they were simply making plays. That opens up room for everyone else, which is why Richards was able to find so much room, IMO.

I want him to elevate his game even more, but I didn't see this at all. He didn't pass up shots, he had 6 shots on goal tonight (3rd on the team) and was fluid on the point, especially on the pp. He carried the puck into the zone at the proper times and made crisp passes. He made a really slick spin pass to Voynov which led to a great scoring chance by Kopitar.

I realize expectations for the guy are through the roof since he signed that contract, but come on now. He got beat once defensively but other than that he had a very solid game.

The best part of the Kings winning tonight was that it broke up the circle jerk in the main forum thread.

A win that keeps paying dividends.

Know what it felt like? Like what happens when a Cup contender gets a lead late in a game.

I thought Doughty played a pretty complete game. Defensively he was positioned well and set up in the offensive zone. The only thing I can complain about is that he didn't get a goal.

That was a good start. Richards was just amazing and Carter made an incredibly smart and skilled play to set Penner up for the game winner.

Doughty showed some good poise tonight in controlling his emotions and made some good plays, but he was too indecisive on the PP. Kopitar had some good moments, but overall I was disappointed in his play. If he ever learns to bring it like Richards did tonight he will be a monster. That icing with under 10 seconds remaining in the 2nd period was one of the most brain dead plays I have seen in a while.

The best thing is the Kings can play better, a lot better.
