Canucks fan here.

Congratulations on the 1st game victory, was a hard battle, and both goaltenders played very well.

I think it's safe to say that Richards was holding his strength for the playoffs. It was the Richards we knew we were getting in that trade.

Kudos to this Canuck fan.

You guys had a good PK unit (though I think PP coach, Kompon, sucks) out there and Lou did all he could to keep it close.

Bah, Quick was solid. Made some immense stops and was a bit of a showoff with his athleticism.

Seriously. Dude was a monster. I remember being enamored with the way he played in the playoffs the last few years, and mid-season I sort of forgot what made the guy what he is. Now I remember.

Tonight's game was so satisfying. LA matches up so well with Vancouver this season. It was like a continuation of the New Year's Eve annihilation of the Canucks.

However...

The Canucks' dive parade continues.

Two plays in particular stood out to me:

1) Kesler basically slewfoots Quick right before the 1st Canucks goal, and in the process jerks his head back with nothing near his head. No stick, no player. It basically HAD to be a dive. No normal person would contort themselves that way otherwise.

2) After that crushing check by Mike Richards with a few minutes remaining, Burrows follows Richie back to the other end of the ice, jawing at him. Burrows shoves MR and in the process falls backwards.

Edit: here's a gif of the play, posted earlier in the thread:

Both plays were weak attempts at diving to draw penalties.

Very very drunk right now, but sober enough to say this one game. One game. Come back to staples with a two zero lead and i will have no voice 30 seconds in.

That wasn't a dive. That was a ghost with a lance. Watch it again with heat sensors and you'll see it.

We have home ice advantage. That's a pleasant feeling.

I got to stay away form the main boards, nothing good can come from chatting with the Canuck fans.
Some are civil, others just throw out the dumbest stuff...

Awesome, awesome game 1.
I thought he said "seal game one".

Not happy, but congrats on Game 1. A few of our guys were diving and flopping around like a bunch of ****ing handicap seals out there. It was pathetic and embarrassing to watch, even on our end. There is no place in the game of hockey for diving. It makes me sick to my stomach. Kesler's "cartwheel" dive was one of the most disgusting things I have ever seen. Kes needs to shut his mouth and stop pissing in his panties when a call doesn't go his way, it's embarrassing...

Bitz will and should get a suspension for the hit, I predict 1 - 2 games.

See you on Friday.

I had to turn off the canucks feed as well--it was sad how little respect the homers gave the kings

The best one was when they claimed that Quick came out of his crease and dove on that first goal. Although, it's much more civil than 2 years ago.

I haven't seen it mentioned in this thread yet, but I felt the refs in the game tonight were outstanding.

They didn't fall for the Canucks dives, and that alone says a lot.

I can still remember the days when the worst thing we could say about the Canucks was that their unis glowed in the dark...
