Austin Czarnik

I was just reading through the game blog on the Windsor Star from the Sarnia game and a fan asked Jim Parker if Austin Czarnik could be a top 6 forward right away next year. Parker's response was this:

Jim Parker - "Warren Rychel compares him to former Kitchener forward Justin Azevedo and feels he could be a league scoring leader one day."

Now I doubt he actually leads the league, but I have never seen him play so I can't really comment. Anything in the top 20 though I would consider to be great. Has anyone seen him play and comment on this?

he is really small if i have heard correctly like 5'8 160, and a pretty pretty good player may be able to jump in right away and kick in the offence we need when hall leaves

If Czarnik is that small, then Rychel should be ashamed of himself to talk the kid out of going to school.

He probably feels as bad as Hunter did for convincing Pat Kane to report. Not saying that Czarnik is the second coming of Pat Kane, but if he is fast enough or shifty enough to not get pounded every night then his size shouldn't be a problem.

Why? If he puts up the points, who cares? And, he is still young. He won't be drafted till 2011 so I am sure he will get a bit bigger.

Czarnik had an impressive performance against the Indiana Ice this weekend 2g 2a, 20 points in 16 games. Jack Campbell has also done a great job this year. If Rychel can get Czarnik in the fold watching those two will be a lot of fun.

I know this thread is old but where will he be drafted this year, I had. A chance to watch the US play in the world juniors both on tv and live and was really impressed with his speed. What are the knocks on him beside his size and what is his ceiling?
