This should put you one (small) block from the stadium, facing away. The actual stadium isn't there, but the surrounding area is pretty much unchanged. You can look around and see the sights.
The impression you get is this:

I was always under the impression, from the outside, that New Yorkers won't cross the state-line for a sports team that wasn't in the NFL and New Jersey, erm, -ites (?) aren't all that crazy on supporting a team that's pretending it isn't local. I get the feeling the inevitable introduction of an NYC-based Cosmos would relegate the Bulls to the position of Chivas of the North East.
Not to break your heart, but that team is as average as average gets. In 2 games vs the 2 terrible Canadian teams, you needed outside influences to give you the upper hand. I'd argue both teams looked better then the Crew, minus said influences.
sorry, was out of town, just saw your response...didn't get to see the NYRB game, but just off tweets from ppl there, i'd say you have a good point...seemed like through the first few games we were playing with heart and determination. but saturday seemed to put us in our place lol
Yes. It's common for MLS teams to play mid-season friendlies against foreign teams. MLS is trying to attract all the soccer fans in the United States who watch foreign clubs, and obviously no European teams are going to come play here in February.
The Union have previously played Real Madrid, Manchester United, Everton and Celtic in mid-season friendlies. They have also scheduled Aston Villa for this summer. Schalke will be the first German club we've played.

Fire have brought back my favorite Fire player ever, Chris Rolfe from Europe. Posted solid numbers when healthy over the pond. Stoked about his signing.
Rolfe - Oduro
Grazzini
Pappa Nyarko
Pause
Sega - Friedrich - Anibaba - Gargan
Johnson
With a veteran bench consisting of foreign talent. Rolfe plays best as a withdrawn striker and that may not mesh well with Grazzini, but he's got technique and a shot we haven't had up top since Blanco left.
I don't know what's worse: Wondolowski doubling up the entire Union squad by himself, or the fact that Philadelphia is one game back of third in the East. They desperately need someone to turn the engine on their offense. Whether that's a CM or a striker, I'm not sure. Maybe Herdling will help resolve those issues and create a little space for everyone else.
Sporting dropped their first match of the year last night in Portland, despite scoring the only goal of the match.

Philly's win against Chivas Saturday was the ugliest game I've seen in a while. Not even necessarily in terms of violence, though that was there, it was just bad soccer.
I came into this season thinking Nowak was a poor manager. I think less of him now.
Impossible to judge Mwanga when he isn't even playing and the team is floundering.

I've only gotten to catch parts of a couple of games on TV, but his decision to pull Adu in the game against Columbus a couple of weeks ago was baffling. The team had some decent chances and looked somewhat dangerous, then you pull the guy who's creating out there AND change the structure that had been working so well? WTF? Just made no sense to me. Adu seemed unhappy about that move as well, shockingly.
